I'm trying to figure out a good fit for a Noctis in W-space. I want a low sig to be difficult to scan down as I normally let anomalies despawn before I salvage them.
I'm thinking: High- 5 tractor beams 3 salvagers Medium- Sensor Booster I(Scan resolution script? I might also use a II because I'll eventually go for logistics) Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburner Low: Inertia Stabilizer II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Warp stabilizer (Not sure on this one) Rigs- 3x Medium Salvage Tackle II(yes, I have the ISK for these because I'll be able to make them)
Interested in hearing your ideas and suggestions. I might just skip it and put 3x Small Salvage Tackle II's on my dessie.

Your dessie does not have the 80km tractor range.

that warp core stab will gimp your locking range and probably not let you tractor to the full 80km

I'm only going up to Ore Industrial III for a 56km tractor beam range and my farthest wrecks will only be 46 kms away so gimping my range for a warp stab is not a big deal, but what would I replace it with as I don't need more cargo space. An Overdrive perhaps?

Overdrive means less cargo. Id say damage control (oh **** moments) Or a cargo expander.

"Inertial Stabilizer" and "minimizing sig radius" should never be used in the same sentence. The noctis already has a sig radius of a battlecruiser which takes 4 passes to probe down by a competent prober, at most. With an I-stab you blow up the 250m sig radius to 300 which will only make it easier. Plus the whole "I'll see the probes" argument is moot because competent probers either pull their probes the moment they get a successful hit or keep them out of dscan until the last second. Plus most WH gangs will be packing a hictor or dictor for the flighty locals they're trying to play with so a stab isnt going to help much if they warp in on you and drop the bubble.

Thanks, this is exactly the kind of stuff I'd be overlooking. So drop the inertia stabilizer
I'm thinking 2 overdrive's then unless there is a low slot item that decreases sig radius. The Noctis has more than enough cargo space for what I do even with overdrives. It's more of a GTFI and then GTFO before they even have a chance to notice you were there. Damage Control fails because if your using it, your just prolonging the agony of being blown up by about 1-3 secs if that. WH raiders tend to fall into two broad categories of incompetent and elite, thankfully not many are the latter.

Well if you want to be harder to probe why not consider lowslot eccm? Or am i missing something?

High- 5 tractor beams 3 salvagers Medium- ECCM - Magnetometric II Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburner Low: 3x Magnetometric Backup Array II Rigs- 3x Medium Salvage Tackle II
This is pretty much the fit I'm thinking of as long as the cap lasts longer than 90 seconds.

Ok, HOW does lowslot ECCM make him harder to probe? Ya totally lost me there.

The ECCM's a bit overstacked. I'd take a Signal Amplifier in place of one of the backup array. |

That's what I'm thinking minus the probe launcher since I live in the WH.
I generally let me anomalies sit there before I salvage them. If someone found me at the anomaly, they would of already killed me. If they warped to it, after I left and before it despawned, then most would have ADD and be too impatient to wait for me to return.

I'd say best bet is fit an Improved Cloaking Device. (Maybe) Halo or Low-Grade Halo implants. (Honestly I don't know that you can hide this ship effectively if only temporarily.) a Poteque Pharmaceuticals 'Prospector' PPZ-1 Skill Hard-wiring (Faster cycle times on salvagers means less time in the open). And watch directional scan like a hawk. Stay cloaked until you're ready to go to work. Maybe I would go with any implants or modules that gets you into warp as fast as possible (Snakes or Low-Grade Snakes, Nano-Fibers, AB maybe). and Alignment, Alignment, Alignment! Your best bet is to be able to extend and escape. Maybe I'm wrong?

Yeah doesn't this thing have a great tractor range? Just align as soon as you're on grid, sure you can watch dscan but your main escape mechanism is that as soon as something decloaks/lands, hit warp. You should leave before any bubble's deployed or steath bomber can lock. With that said, a max agility fit would be my way, and hope you aren't living in a black hole. If you warp in to a wreck and not the site bm, you should only be able to be followed if they had the sig from before and guess a good wreck to follow you to, or sit someone in the site waiting for you to warp. If they manage to get a non cov-op cloaky like a HIC in there before you, well you fail and will rightly end up in a bubble.
A cloak is kinda useless, hostiles will see/watch you leave your pos anyway unless you plan to park in the anom before running it (and cloak before sleepers lock you). And with this you can only be set up in 1 anom.
For a fit that plans to leave the system into any other static or dynamic holes, for just travel or salvaging, I'd then consider the cloak, mwd and probes. |

Main thing Daneel, is that if the gankers get to the site before you are actually in warp, It's too late. (if you can manage it though, keeping you velocity over 70% while aligned is good!) The Noc is too slow to go to warp without knowing in advance that the badies are coming. (And keep in mind a competent pvp'er using his Dscan does not always need to probe you out.) The cloak keeps the random gangs from knowing you might be there and waiting you out before you do something. Even if you're safely waiting in a POS, I'd rather be in a safe spot cloaked so they don't say hey, look, a Noc in the POS lets see if he does something.
All that said, I wouldn't personally bring a Noc in to a WH unless it was part of a well organized operation.

I believe it takes medium rigs.
Surely if you're aligned you'd warp instantly/quicker than someone loading grid/decloaking and then locking you? |
