Couldn't decide whether to put this in Missions or Ships section since it's a bit of both.
Basically, I'm tired of running Recon 3 of 3 in a Raven, it's slow as hell and there's only so many coffee breaks I can take!
It used to be that a stabber could blitz it really fast but apparently that doesn't work anymore (see comments on eve survival). So, how do people race through it these days?
I was looking at building maybe a drake or a caracal but don't really know what I need in terms of tank. I know that the incoming damage is uniform (25% of each type) and that it used to be 10 waves of 4000 damage every 20 seconds followed by 1 wave of 8000 damage but the stabber fit should manage that and apparently now doesn't.
Any ideas anyone, or do I keep slow-boating it and loading up on caffine?

I use a Drake. 2 LSE, 2 Invuls, 10mn AB , and 4 Shield power relays in the lows. no sweat.

1227 m/s if all V skills. Easily tops 1000 m/s without perfect skills. Warp-in to warp-out usually takes about a minute, generally get out with between 20-40% shields left.

Whatever gave you the idea that Stabber don't work?
Typical buffer shield buffer left is 1/4 or 1/3 total when you activate the gate.
More than enough leeway for any typical skill level, but not idiot proof however.

Comments on eve central seemed to suggest it wasn't working anymore, then again, as you say... not idiot proof.
I guess I got out of this what I needed, confirmation it does still work :)

Safe , fool proof and fast?
Fit a Lif fuel/100mn afterburner on a drake. Fit overchange/nano's accordingly. You will survive even with empty mids

Since I already have a Tengu, this seemed pretty idiot-proof. I rig it up to do 700m/s with its afterburner and I finish the mission in under 2 minutes. It's not as fast as a stabber, but it definitely doesn't require as much attention as one.

Thats what I use, down to the rigs but for a warp core stab in the lows. Sometimes I just blitz all 3 missions in the stabber and found that a frig can spawn on the second mission when you hit the gate and trigger everything that the frigs can also warp scramble as well as web.

Take your standard passive tank a drake you used to use for L3s and slap a 100mn (BS-sized) afterburner on it instead of one of the LSEs. Simple, easy, safe, and pretty fast.

I do it in a cyclone with a BS afterburner and a large shield booster. Plenty of room for error.

Sounds good in theory but Recon 2 would have to be changed since it only requires you to warp away after stuff targets you. The "storyline" for the mission would have to be rewritten too since you're theoretically supposed to be checking on 3 different possible entrances to the same place and I don't think EVE has any way to track multiple triggers for mission completion.
If you can't put them all in the same chain of acceleration gates (due to Recon 2) and you can't split them up (due to the lack of multiple mission completion triggers) then I don't think there is much you can do with it other than delete the mission, which I don't really like because it is a great change of pace from more combat-intensive missions.
