Also, I don't think there was a tutorial when I was new. If there was I didn't do it. The first thing I did was to go to Maila (low sec) and ninjamine in a bantam with some friends.
I tried doing the tutorial with an alt a few years ago, but didn't get very far before I got bored.
Firstly i think he is just a troll artist
But ignoring that for a second, its just a terribadly written article. It doesnt qualify to be called a review because theres just no content other than the reviewers point of view. Wheres the objectivity?
Like a comment poster said on the article; he only got to write it because all the other reviewers had Thanksgiving hangovers still.

Isn't a review supposed to be a summary of the the reviewer's opinion? Of course it's biased. Who wants objectivity in a review? Not me at least.

Not everyone likes being challenged in a video game.
I like eve because it is stupidly hard and never ending. It makes me think and I can do what I want.

As a committed carebear who's crap at PvP, even I agree that this is a pretty dumb review. A bit of research beforehand might have been intelligent. However it probably does fairly represent the consensus for many who give EVE a try.
Someone above talked about a "nice" experience in EVE, and I've found it to be true that while there are tons of asshats in EVE, there are also plenty very "moral" players who are helpful, or with whom you can make friends and with whom you can have mutually beneficial relations.
In fact, it's the existence of asshats, and the ever-present danger and risk, that make the genuine friendships you forge, and the passing "nice" things that happen, all the sweeter.
EVE is one of the few genuinely deep MMOs out there, and long may it live.
