Since the recent Incursion patch ive had several issues that i did not have before. When logging onto Eve it takes awhile for my character portrait to load so i can choose to login. Entering the game feels slow. Docking, undocking, stargate jumping are all slow, at one instance my ship had lost its stargate jump cloak, which could have resulted in ship and pod loss. I am also randomly DCing and modules are slow to activate/deactivate. Also loading up a characters info screen is slow.
I am not in any high population systems, and when in combat the module activation lag makes it feel like there should be a thousand people around me in a massive fleet battle.
I have gone through all antivirus setting i can think of, using avast, i have added the main eve folder and the eve folder in my documents to be excluded from scanning when they are read, and this has not helped. -------------------------------------------- - Its not how much DPS you do or how buffed your tank is, its how good you look blowuing up. |

Exactly the same problem here, I've got a hanger full of loot to sell and each sale takes > 30 seconds. I've tried the following 'general fixes' to EVE problems. - Optimizing for performance - Clearing the cache - Shouting at the computer a lot I think the shouting may have had some small positive effect on the problem
Anyway, filed a petition and waiting for a reply... |

This looks like a network problem and high ping between client and the server, probably need to make a petition in-game and try to get the destination information and try to troubleshoot the route, if you or your friends can not do it contact you ISP for technical support on this one.
There will be quite a few ISP before packet gets to EVE server so you may not isolate the problem in one go, it can be north america medium or Iceland ISP problem.
I am in Canada and having very good connection, you get a very high chanse of crappy red mile link on your side with ISP.

I'm having the same problem. I get slow loading times now, my client freezes up and then disconnects.
Bit of an annoyance since I just started a war.
Pingplotter shows if-1-3.tcore2.NJY-Newark.as6453.net giving me a constant 10-11% packetloss. Sig ---

Same issue, basically.
Further info (another topic):
Edited by: Inceptor on 02/12/2010 14:37:00 My consistent 'grind to a halt' issue is persisting. Everything was running fine for a while this afternoon. It happened this time last night too. Modules slowly stop reacting on time, target locks dont happen then all at once I have locked a bunch of targets, jerky movement onscreen - it looks as if I am losing packets. Any ideas as to how I could further diagnose my connection to the eve server, packet loss wise?
At the moment eve wont even allow me to get ingame, after choosing 'enter game', it hangs on the 'character selection' screen - 'entering game as XXXXXXXXX'
Edit: just got the 'soul crushing lag' message -
'Your client has waited 5 minutes for a remote call to complete. This could mean that the server is very loaded.
Please be patient, chances are that the call will complete eventually but depending on the load it might be considerable time.
Click here to see the remote call debug viewer'
I open the remote call debug viewer to find a lot of 'outstanding'. I am guessing this is me trying to punch a message through to the server and it not getting there.
Anyone able to help me read this little window, and get an idea what im looking at? |

Started for me after patch too. Its pretty much okay in the daytime, as it gets towards downtime it seems to get really bad.
Very unscientific data though. Sig ---

Just started playing with pingplotter too, nifty little program. I'm also getting 10-15% PL on the same node.
edit: for those of you wishing to try;

87.237.38.200 is the IP to trace (eve server) # of times to trace to: 1500 Trace interval: 2.5seconds Samples to include: 1500
If everyone is having the exact same PL on the same node, then maybe we can begin to narrow things down?

easy way to find out. pingplot to the eve server. if you plot to that node / ip, according to whois that node lives in montreal.

Edited by: Infinity Ziona on 04/12/2010 12:43:57 I just got disconnected on both clients. Meanwhile my other two clients on other pc are working fine.
Just loaded my 2 clients, now Infinity Ziona is frozen in station with no control while my other character is working perfectly.
Thats unlikely to happen if its a connection problem yeah?

Indeed, my guess is that they ****ed something up in the client code. ________________________________________________ Tau - Yeah we suck in close combat. To bad you will never get there. For the greater good!!

Please note that unless the last hop has packet loss, any packet loss on an earlier jump is irrelevant in ping plotter. It's likely the server making other traffic a priority, especially during peak times.
What packet loss % (and ping) are you all showing for the final jump?

I also have this problem. My login takes ages to load and now... I cannot even get into my hangar and all I see is just space background. Nothing loads. This also happened to me after the Incursion patch. :( I also randomly DC, slow down and what. I tried clearing the cache now, but didn't help.
Never had any problems before and I haven't changed ISP or anything. What is going on? Im on my Bahnhof service in Sweden, again never had any lag issues or that (perhaps except in the Sansha invasions during Tyrannis, but that's expected atleast). Signature removed. Please make sure it is EVE Related. Zymurgist |

I have since posting reinstalled game, changed from avast back to avg, tried media settings for my network card, from auto to 100full duplex to 100 half, turned on or off task offload. Nothing has helped. Also uninstalled the optional patch, nothing has helped the issue. Its not a local issue either seeing as people from 'down under' have the same issue and im in sweden -------------------------------------------- - Its not how much DPS you do or how buffed your tank is, its how good you look blowuing up. |

Same thing here, and I am also on Bahnhof (Sweden). The game is unplayable, as you often get disconnected when jumping or taking any kind of actions. It started acting this way the day that Incursion hit and has been like that ever since.

same issue here, from melbourne, oz and with optus cable
the patch worked great, it was only after the optional patch that i have had the issues.
my alts, main crash at various times. it seems to work ok with one client but still very slow at times. are there new ports being used? maybe its kaspesky. i tested it with an alt on a different laptop and it crashed with my main on the desktop and then when the alt logs in the main crashed on the different computer. with my alt in a dictor it takes forever to jump into system and then it randomly just crashes. terribad for small roams.
i tried to ping the eve servers in the background, which seemed to solve similar issues years ago but that doesnt seem to work either. i remember there were handshake issues around 2006 with the ping trick seeming to solve the problem as a workaround, sadly not this time.
anyways, its almost unplayable, be interested to understand what a solution could be. havent had this problem for years.

Edited by: Infinity Ziona on 05/12/2010 01:58:02 I noticed it after optional patch too. I leave myself logged in 24 hours and no disconnects. Only happens when I'm jumping, loading market, people n places etc.
Also no packet loss at all at the server end. Sig ---

no PL at server end either. Beginning to see a pattern - swedes and aussies with similar ISPs only having this issue since the latest patch, and that everything we have all collectively tried has not fixed anything.
I'm at a bit of a loss - and as for kapersky etc - I dont use it. So its not AV related. The only thing common between us is location (somewhat), ISP (somewhat), and a new patch (everyone). The previous two COULD be coincidence.
Clutching at straws now. Anyone got any further ideas? This ruins my gametime and I really need it fixed.

I have noticed targetting delays like that as if nothing happens then you get your target locked instantly.
Also did someone mention that EVE server is in Montreal or I misundersttod?
