500m, i would go with a caldari large about 350m i think, plenty left over for ew and guns, have 4 each of the ew types online although dreads in seige are not effected, dont forget your hardeners, thats alot of shield to get through

We used a large caldari,cap hanger,ship main, and rest were all hardeners.we anchored a few guns.It takes for ever to get the shields down on this.3 days or so back i seen a pos in system with 16 hardeners.not sure if it was faction. probably was.It took several hundred ships a while to get it into reinforce mode.In a wormhole the enemy will not bring that kind nor enough ammo to take it down to reinforcement.

We tend to budget about 1.5 bill for a new large reaction tower some of which is for reactants.
POS have dropped significantly in price since PI, pos mods probably have too but I haven't been following that market so you can probably get an equivalent setup for a few hundred million less, on the other hand fuel is a bit more expensive and you should take a decent reserve into a wormhole just in case.
If you can't afford to spend that on a tower then you really shouldn't be putting one up as you'd be breaking the "don't fly what you can't afford to lose" rule. If someone catches your orca at the wormhole or you anchoring it then you can lose everything.
Hold a high tax corp op running level 4 missions over a weekend, with 22 members you should be able to raise enough to bankroll a real tower. If your corp can't hold together for that then you have to wonder if it'd hold together through the travails of wormhole space.

I was wondering reading this,
how does someone get his hands on say a Dread Guristas Ion Field Projection Battery ?
I know I can buy them by contract, I mean how did they end up there, how do people find/make those modules ? You get a blueprint in a complex ? You get one as a reward for doing guristas agent mission ?

I can't speak directly to the Dread Guristas Ion Battery but I've had a faction tower bpc drop from a rat in a high sec expedition before.
I've run a few missions for pirate factions and starbase bpcs aren't in their LP stores so I'm pretty sure it's null sec drops from rare rats and exploration.
