Many don't seem to have realised it yet but the barge changes may well kill ice prices.

CCP turned ice mining into a near fully afk activity, all thanks to the 35k m3 ore hold of the mackinkaw. Ice prices may drop to their lowest ever, and the only people mining it will be doing so mainly afk with many alts, and for the average player it will be a worthless income.

How is that a buff for mining? It's a massive nerf.

You should thank Goons for their actions showing how silly mining barges and ganking those was. They made a point and actually helped those changes more than everyone, if you can't actually see the picture then look at it deeply

Nothing like semi AFK mining, you can actually live real life and simultaneously play a video game now, Awesome

Protip for the future: if your computer is logged in 24 (or way more than a person can) hours a day making money in a way that is meant to be active and you're not in front of it you're probably doing something wrong

AFK mining aint against the rules cos u have to get back to your pc every once a while to clear your cargo, warp back and restart mining.

Translation: I'm mis-quoting an announcement about AFK Complex farming to support my whining about mining even though the announcement has nothing to do with and does not in any way reference mining. I have no idea what I'm talking about and have a 3rd grade comprehension of the english language.

But nah, not mis-quoting really. He states that doing things that are making you money, while AFK, while logged in all day, which are meant to be active gameplay elements, is "doing something wrong."

AFK Mining hits every single one of those criteria. To wit:

1. Makes you money (ore / ice -> isk)
2. Done while AFK (Oh lord yes.)
3. Able to be done 23.5 x 7 if you check every so often.
4. Are meant to be active gameplay elements (ores weigh something, meaning you're not meant to be able to mine for an infinite amount of time without interaction)

Ergo, AFK Mining is "doing something wrong" -- and when CCP says you're "doing something wrong" this means you are "exploiting."

Therefore: AFK Mining is an exploit.

This isn't difficult logic.

I am glad CCP is finally acknowledging that AFK Isk Generation (i.e. Mining) is a horrific exploit that is killing the EVE economy and EVE itself, but for some reason I fear they will back down and not actually do anything about it. Too many entitled players, addicted to the sight of their wallets ticking up.

There was plenty of safety in mining, if you weren't an AFK Botting moron fitting no tank and max yield in a ship designed for group nullsec mining.

Unfortunately, CCP gave in to the AFK Botting Moron Menace.
