So, well, I just started this character, and I plan to do a lot of missions with him (preferably in Caldari space) so the Guristas aren't going to like me a lot after a couple months.
Still, I'd like to do the pirate arc "Smash and Grab" and I'm concerned about how low my standings with Guristas can drop before they shut the door for me. Yesterday I read that not all the agents that give you the first mission belong to the Guristas and that gave me a spark of hope. I don't know how epic arc missions work so I'm unsure if that's enough to do all the arc or I'll be stopped due to my bad standings at some point.
So my question is: How low does my standing with the Guristas have to be to become unable to do their faction arc?
Thanks.

Pretty damned low I should think. I managed to start it with about -9 but that was from an agent in Gallente space. Don't have his name to hand but he was from Federal Intelligence Office. So.. basically your Guristas standings are not going to be a problem. Can't say the same about Pandemic Legion et al in Venal however....

I ran the Guristas arc for the first time in early November. I have done the Angel Cartel arc three times now. At least when I was there, it was a lot easier to run the Guristas arc than any of the three times I ran the Angel Cartel arc.
In Curse, every gate seems to have a Sabre and cloaked Falcon alt on it at certain times of the day, Venal, not so much.
Edit: Of course the Guristas arc only pays you about 50-60% of what the Angel Cartel arc does, in terms of the unique rewards and BPCs, but that's another thing entirely.

Edited by: Jint Hikaru on 06/12/2010 12:39:56 I believe you need a 5.00 standing with one of the three starting agents (listed below). From then on it does not matter, you can work your way through the entire arc. EDIT - so for 'Smash and Grab' you can bottom out your Guristas faction, because there is a Gallente or Caldari agent who will start the arc for you. The fun bit is getting your BP and Faction loot home!!! Good Luck, and fly safe.
The starting agents for Smash and Grab (Guristas Epic arc) are:
| Arment Caute | Federal Intelligence Office | Gallente Federation | Egbinger | | Atma Aulato | Ytiri | Caldari State | Obe | | Yada Vinjivas | Guristas | Guristas | Taisy |
The starting agents for Angel Sound (Angel Cartel Epic arc) are:
| Aton Hordner | Republic Security Services | Minmatar Republic | Egbinger | | Arajna Ashia | Amarr Navy | Amarr Empire | Sendaya | | Ellar Stin | Dominations | Angel Cartel | Konora | ------------------------ Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum "I've got a couple of Strippers on my ship... and they just love to dance!" ------------------------ |

Thank you guys for the answers!
Another question: For extra security (which is always welcome) can you do the whole arc in a bomber?

Unsure about that.
I did the whole arc in an Ishkur (Assult Frig) ------------------------ Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum "I've got a couple of Strippers on my ship... and they just love to dance!" ------------------------ |
