Passing through Gallente space, where I'm not welcome, on my way to a worm hole entrance I'm taking fire from gate guns en route. No big deal, I'm almost there. Anyway, warping to a gate my 'net disconnects, presumably from the thunder storm in my area at the time. When I reconnect I find myself in my new clone back in Amarr space. Not just a lost ship, but podded to boot.
Can I petition this and what is the likelyhood of success?

You got podded by a player after you disconnected. There is nothing to petition.

My combat log shows no pod loss, only the ship loss, and that was to the Gallente Navy.

If his char DC'd while warping, how did he get podded by a player unless smth went wrong, he should petition. BTW I have had several DCs since incursions that have left my char in space rather than Ewarping so his story seems entirely probable.

Why don't you try it and find out?
But if you want an outside opinion then I will say the logs show nothing.

If you have no pod loss mail then it's a glitch, so petition it. I've been reimbursed my implants under similar condition, but it involved losing a ship while docking and ended up in the medical bay with no pod loss.

Still no pod loss mail almost a day later. I've submitted a petition. I guess we'll see what comes of it.

If NPCs killed your pod somehow, you will get reimbursed for your loss of the pod (not the ship however)
If players did it, sorry out of luck.
Without the KM, who knows. Hope for the best.

If you disconnect mid-warp, your ship finishes the warp first, then is supposed to initiate an E-warp from the previous destination. The Gallente Navy caught up to his ship before it could E-warp and blew it to smithereens. When the pod didn't warp right away, some player came by and suicide-ganked it. The faction navy ships will not pod anyone.
If the server thought you were still connected, it wouldn't have E-warped your ship or pod.
You may be reimbursed as apparently there have been some problems with ships/pods not E-warping lately. But if the logs don't show anything, you won't get anything.

I had the exact same problem, just that i had slight lag and i docked my Punisher in a station while being shot in Misaba. I saw the docking procedure being executed but then when the screen went from being black to the inside of the station, it turned out i was in my clone, in my medical station in Warouh. No lossmail on my pod.
I got reimbused the cost of the clone only, i didn't have any implants luckly, but i wouldn't count on them being reimbused.
