Originally by: Zachary Crow I don't know how FW missions work, so let's say I want to start working for the State Protectorate.
1-> Does the Protectorate offer "classic", high sec missions? or all of their agents will lead me to hostile space? 2-> Can I do the level 1s in a humble t1 frigate? or are all the levels only doable with t2 ships? I have 200k SP now so I can't use anything much bigger. 3-> Can I do them solo effectively?
Thanks.
I keep joining and quitting the Gallente militia so have a little experience in that region of space to offer.
1. The missions I have been offered are all far, far away into low-sec. Around 10-24 hops is typical. Passing 1-2 gatecamps, even for the level 1 missions, is usually necessary. 2. The level 1's and 2's could probably be handled in a T1 frigate or destroyer. Expect to get blown up many times over though from opposing factions or pirates though. Waiting until you have a good cloaking ship and qualify to blitz level 3 and 4 faction missions is better, I wouldn't bother with the 1's and 2's at all honestly. 3. Depends on your skills... most of them are really simple. Go here, blow up this structure or kill this one specific unit. Killing everything is usually optional and not recommended, it's just a matter of getting there and back through 20-40 potential hops where everybody is going to try to lock/scram/loot your newbie stuffs.
I did pretty well for a while blitzing level 3's and 4's in a Nemesis/Stealth Bomber. Even that proved to be unsafe anytime local showed more than 1 person in it, as I would *always* get visitors in my mission grid within 5 minutes of uncloaking . If you don't have the skills to be quick, stealthy, and blow up something battleship sized in 4 minutes or less, you will probably fail a lot of missions and spend a lot of time refitting new ships and buying new clones.
I found I could make money faster if I ran regular high-sec level 4 missions and buy the faction things I needed off contracts. The people who are successful at raking up those sweet, sweet faction loyalty points are typically either very skilled, very paranoid, and have competent friends to watch their back. I'm unfortunately none of these.
