Just curious. What was the moment in EVE when you were at your strongest, most powerful, most effective. What were you doing? where were you? what were you flying?

Nothing big for me as I've mostly been a carebear but the wormhole I live in has a static low exit and 3 or 4 dudes came in looking for a fight and they bubbled the exit. I went over there in my Proteus and tanked a Tengu, Cerberus and Drake to the extent of them leaving the wormhole.
I remember feeling pretty sweet that day, as I said it was no biggy but yeah was cool for me.

One time I ran a POS in deep 0.0. Except for one Russian guy in a Raven who appeared now and then, that system was mine. Until someone noticed the POS of course. It was nice while it lasted. -

Well, I faffed around in random cruisers for a bit when I first joined, then said "too big" and went to the SB and didn't look back for months.
Then, when I had full support skills and cruisers 5 (yeah, yeah, I know I'm dumb for training a skill I wasn't intending to use), I got bored and decided to do missions, and found out that my Vexor was now what my Myrm used to be.
That made me feel pretty cool.

Funnily enough, mine is also an Ishkur experience, but of a decidedly more carebear flavour. When I first got my hands on it back in my newbie days, I wanted to try it out on something I was familiar with so I took it into lvl 1 WC, which had so far given me no end of grief (granted, I had always done it in a Merlin up until that point)à
àand the way I remember experiencing it, everything just died. Boom. Poof. Gone.
I ♥ Ishkur ever since, even though in hindsight, it wasn't a particularly good measure of what it could do or something particularly difficult that it pulled off.

The brutix popped, and the myrm and I were neck and neck into structure. He literally had a sliver left when the powerful feeling left me as my astarte went pop.

Three moments that I can think of, although they aren't much:
First off, when I went off on a solo lowsec roam in my new Merlin, fitted with ac's, rockets, and a mwd ( ). After a while of finding nothing, I happened upon a Stabber flying through the belts. I warped in, landed right on top of him, and proceeded to murderize his ship. He popped when I was around 25% shields, and as he did, a bomber decloaked and tried to finish me off. I murderized that, too. It felt pretty awesome.
Second time on a lowsec roam, this time in my shiny new Incursus (my very first one). Not too many jumps in, I see an Incursus and an Ishkur on scan. Decide to avoid the Ishkur like the plague, and manage to find the other Incursus at the gate to a plex. Warp in, we both start duking it out at close range, and he dies when I'm at half armor. Just after he bites it, a Sentinel warps in, and I go straight for it. He nukes my cap such that I am basically spamming F1 just to get shots off, his drones have me burning through hull, and he is literally one shot from death when he nukes my cap again and warps away. Ishkur warps in at the same time, I decide to bail. Gf's are exchanged all around. Only got one kill, but man was it a rush.
Last little note, as much as I hate doing PvE, watching my Varg tear apart missions that used to take me an hour as a noob in under 20 minutes is always a little amusing.

Guess it's when I was out roaming in my tristan about 1+ year ago.. I happened upon a small frig gang consisting of a Punisher, Merlin and Rifter and we scanned each other down and passed each other in warp a few times. I decided to go to a planet and wait for them. They warped in and I engaged the rifter first, the other guys were a bit off as the rifter was vastly faster than the other two. I managed to take the rifter out just before the other two caught up to me. Next I targeted the punisher while the both of them were pounding away at me and ..eventually I won.
A 3vs1 and I managed to kill all of their frigs and after that GFs were exchanged, compliments were had and I felt like I just had sex.

Edited by: Daneel Trevize on 08/12/2010 18:54:03 Once, there was a (level1?) mission, waves and waves of rogue drones kept swarming towards my rail catalyst, but it tore through them only just as fast as they were spawning, it was pretty epic at the time.
More recently, when I'm successfully cloaked 10km off of a T3 in a wormhole and about to unleash full tackle and a rack of blasters and flight of drones on them, and dualboxing an Ashimmu/Curse in too.
Oh, and on another character a few months back I fitted a poorly skilled AC punisher in Jita, headed out to low, and had a 5min long brawl with an eve uni merlin, expecting to run out of cap/hull or be blobbed any second, but I emerged victorious. |

Once had sole possession of a class 2 pulsar w-space. I lived out there with some good buddies, mostly for the salvage and PI. Was a sweet setup with a large Blood tower armed to the teeth, and my chimera on standby.
One evening some strangers decided to waltz in and plop down a large amarr tower with a couple of recons, a sb, and an industrial. They apparently did not decide to scout out the w-space first, as they were oblivious to the number of people collecting at my pos. I got together a ragtag team of about 10 pilots, mostly in bcs, as well as an orca pilot. I quickly gave the order to seal all known exits to the w-space using the orca, then scanned down and bubbled the new exits. Finally we gathered at the new high sec exit, and I made the announcement in local. Something along the lines of "Get your **** out of my w-space." It's about that time that they realized they had a carrier and a sizable fleet itching to bear down on them.
In the end I quickly convinced them to take the tower down and leave the w-space, so I wouldn't end up spending so much time shooting at it. In a completely unexpected twist the high sec dumped out into amarr space, a region our interlopers had well below a -5 standing with. I think it was a nice parting gift.

Way, way back (2004ish) when you could still a full flight of Ogre II's in a thorax, I was still pretty new to messing around in low sec systems, I went into a .4 to kill some belt rats. As I switched guns and drones to the last one, another thorax warped into the belt and immediately attacked me.
I had to switch to him, of course and closed immediately. This was back when it was actually effective to use small blasters on a thorax while fitting a 1600mm plate for defense. My drones were also already out, so I might have had a slight edge there, but, let's face it, half my shields were already gone too.
I won and then killed the belt rat. I felt nigh invulnerable for a long time after that.

Quite recently I took a Daredevil into a fleet engagement against the NC shortly before they consolidated back from LXQ area. After dealing significant damage to several ships I had a trio of t2 frigs attack me. I engaged them each in turn destroying all three. Soon after I was engaged by six ships including HAC's and popped soon after. I miss that ship but what a glorious final day for it. I got on 10 killmails that day including 4 final blows.

Walked down the side aisle looking at doritos and slurpee and glancing at a woman butt, then seeing the carriage next to it with the baby inside. My hand was slippery and cold and the baby blanket looked so warm and arbsorbant. I dropped the slurpy and picked baby and dried my hand in the blanket.
The woman turned around andd started screaming I slapped her in the mouth with the baby rattle using the babies arm. She fell down and I took off her pants and started raping her while I was holding the babys neck. Then I started chocking the baby while I ****d her and used the baby's hand to pick up and feed me doritos and I scream I'm chocking your baby ho' and finished up and left.

had two of those moments.
The first happened on my very first weeks while running lvl 1 or 2 missions on my cormorant i remember feeling all mighty due the dessie massive firepower aggroing all enemy ships and obliterating them one by one with ease.
The second was my very first pvp fight, on my brutix with 1x small shield booster (had no idea of tanking and was able to permarun it) almost no tank in lows aside a small repper and with some odd mix like 4x rails and 3x blasters (a *balanced* setup for missioning i tought) made a rather noob too inty pilot run away after i just took just it's shield with a single shoot

My best moment so far was saving someone from a gatecamp. We were in a small roam gang, and one of us got a bit overconfident and jumped headlong into a camp. He was immediately scrammed and webbed. I followed him at a distance in my Falcon and when I saw him in trouble, I uncloaked, jammed the scram/web enemy ships allowing my buddy to warp to safety. Amazingly, I survived too.

I was wandering around Minmatar lowsec in a Griffin, when I came across an Amarr Slicer running down a minor plex. As I knew there was friendly assistance a few jumps out and had 2 amarr jammers, I warped in, jammed him, and started hollering for help.
It turns out that the nearest friendlies were 4 jumps out, so I think 'meh', I can probably keep him jammed. With them about 2-3 jumps out, I see a Coercer on the d-scan. It enters, and I jam it with my second amarr jammer. I'm thinking 'things are getting a bit chancy here. I have 2 enemies orbiting me at close range, and either one will fry me in seconds if I miss a jam. Hurry up guys."
With help getting nearer and nearer, I see a second Coercer appear on D-scan (definitely hostile, as the friendlies aren't even in system yet). I have one jammer left, but unfortunately it is minmatar. Ah well. Keep aligned out, try for one cycle (probably won't work), then bail. So I activate the module..... JAM! I'm currently jamming up 3 enemies in my sub-million isk ****fit Griffin. I AM A GOD!!!!!! Now to keep my fingers crossed and hope help arrives before the next jam cycles finish. At this point, a trio of friendly Thrashers show up, and promptly drive off or destroy the enemies, leaving us in control of the plex.

Sometime ago, when Goons still held Delve, and I lived south of them in Period Basis, I was chillin outside a station in NPC Delve in my Jaguar, and a neutral in a Hawk undock beside me.
I'd seen him here for days, and he was always outside the station but I had never had the right ship to engage him with for a gf.
I engaged him with my Jag, and we began a very evenly matched duel. About halfway through his shields, another neutral Rupture warped into the grid and red boxed me. I overheated everything as I had just recently trained thermodynamics at the time (when it still required that level 5, you guys have it easy now), and I finished off the Hawk but my small buffer shield tank was pretty much gone at that point.
I chalked it up as a victory for myself, even though I thought I was gonna be taken down by the party crashing Rupture.
I decided I would not go down without a fight though, and turned into a tight orbit on the cruiser and engaged my overheated guns, web and point. For some reason, the rupture did not seem to have warrior IIs, which is probably the only reason I emerged victorious, but I then chewed down the Rupture fairly quickly pretty much solo (a Goon stabber warped in late into the fight and got on the KM with a few hundred damage).
It was my first 1v1 in tech 2 ships, and not only did I win, but I fought off another ship and held the field. Great adrenaline rush and I felt incredibly awesome afterward. Sarcasm - Because i'm too far away to strangle you. |
