Have there be any changes to scanning recently ? Before I could fly around and get a couple of radar/mag sites and then call it a day. Now I fly a dozen systems to try and find a site, heck I even use the in game map to check area's where no pilots are active lurk in the deserted regions. Does anyone have any tips on finding radar sites ?

Im finding it harder by the day to find sites, i think its just down to more and more people taking up this pastime.

I'm facing a similar problem, I'm frequently scanning 5 different systems around my base wihle mission runing, and I havent found any site for 4 day that was no wormhole, wormholes on the other hand are extremly common, somteimes 3 of 3 signatures in a system turn out to be wormholes, in total I found about a dozen different in the last 3 days only I remember finding some more sites in total and much less wormholes proportionate about 1 or 2 month ago

Ladar, Ladar, and more bloody Ladar...
Other than cosmic anoms, all I can find lately is (a ton of) Ladar sites and the odd Grav site.
My thoughts are that post shutdown, there are a dedicated number of capsuliers who track down and clear out the best sites. I'd love to know if this were true, at least I'd know not to bother anymore!

Sites that have been "activated", as in scanned down and warped to, will despawn at the next downtime after 72 hours have passed, if not completed before then.
Sites that have been "cleared", meaning the despawn trigger has been activated (cans hacked, all rocks mined, final overseer structure/ship destroyed) for that site, will despawn instantly and then respawn in another system after a cooldown timer.
This means that while there may be a slightly higher concentration of some sites right after downtime, the sites that get cleared quickly (particularly RADAR sites and deadspace complexes) should be respawning in systems all throughout the day.

Sounds like bad luck, I've run through the same dozen high sec systems several times the last few weeks and probably average one radar or mag site per system. There's WHs, grav, and ladar sites around too, but I skip them.
Maybe someone decided to scan your usual systems lately? I think the theory still is that once cleared the site will pop up in another nearby system (constellation, region?). so sites would tend to migrate to and accumulate in the least scanned systems. |
