Goals for the past month: Liquidizing. Generating profit. Progress When I started the fund the main issue I was facing was my isk being tied up in assets that didn't move as fast as planned. I had less than 1B liquid isk at hand and around 8.5B non-deprecated assets. First and foremost came liquidizing all of my assets in order to be able to properly work all of my NAV and not just part of it. It's obvious that trying to get rid of slow moving stock usually comes with severe losses. And I am not particularly fond of those. It's also not a particular exciting subject, which it's why there were not an awful lot of updates over the past month. The good news is the process of liquidizing went more or less according to plan. Small losses were taken and accepted as being unavoidable. However I was not in time to take proper advantage of part 2 of Incursion. If I were to put a face value on the losses made due to "fire-selling" assets, I would state it to be around 500M. The second goal would be to make a proper profit on the funds freed up during the liquidizing. One might argue this is the most important part of the funds. Problems arose due to the following issues: A) Holidays. B) Extra RL work pressure. C) Markets violently shifting. D) RL sickness. E) Suppliers not supplying, not enough anyways. All in all I ended up rather dissatisfied with the result obtained. The most important thing in my opinion though was getting as much liquid isk to get ready for the 18th January, which at least I did manage to achieve. The idea behind the fund was to simply turn over stock from manufacturers, which did in part take place. The return wasn't as stellar as hoped, the amount of supplies not as vast as promised. To cut short on the small talk, on to the only really important part: Result: 16/12/2010 NAV: 14.500.000.000 Non-deprecated assets: 8.500.000.000 Liquid isk: 1.000.000.000 Foreign equity: 5.000.000.000 9/01/2011 NAV: 19.097.157.153,63 Liquid isk: 18.904.542.831,29 Deprecated assets: 193.000.000,00 Profit: 4.597.157.123 Future progress: Holidays are over, work is relenting, health is recovered, suppliers are asked friendly to shift gears and market shifts will no longer concern my stock, simply because I have no current stock. The profit to make due on promised return rates is already made for both months. I will most likely proceed to pay out due interest two days ahead of schedule on Sunday the 16th of January, to make sure I won't get into any time issues with the patch and what-not. Feel free to ask any questions or make any remarks.

It is not as high as it could have been due to my focus on the secondary goals more than the primary one and me not wanting to risk getting bored with only updating market orders 24/7. - Turning my main into a proper care bear is still in it's infant stages. Skill training obviously progressed as it should, but I still have a month of int/mem training ahead before any per/wp skills come into the picture. To ameliorate this I turned one of my combat alts into a missioneer in order to get the standings I need for part 2 of the original business case. - The third goal has obvious changed due to the changes made to the second goal. I want/need perfect standing in all of known space (spread out over 2 characters) so moving to 0.0 will have to wait a bit. The standings grind is currently 17% completed, but will be completed at an increasing pace due to my alts becoming more apt in combat related skills. - The fourth and fifth alt have been added and are training a mixed industrial/freighter program to ensure I can handle all of the aspects of a supply line without having to depend on a third party. The combination of being able to anchor POS's all over known high sec space, combined with the level of anonymity gained with fresh alts/one players corps/random names will hopefully prove to provide an uninterrupted flow of goods once skill training is at the level required. Perfect standings at the major hubs should do the rest. Learning points: I initially expected a bit of a surge over the holidays. That did not come to pass in the areas I hoped it would. Something to take into consideration. Muscling into markets without an industrial backbone is equally frustrating as it is time-consuming. It's still profitable, but the isk/effort ratio might be a tad too low. Updating orders 23/7 is all fine and dandy but tends to wear me and I guess any sane person out. A smarter way to do business (read: industrial backbone) is required (and planned). I created a large amount of spreadsheets with all kinds of information regarding manufacturing and trade that will come in handy in the time to come. I created macro's to ensure they are easy to update. The IPO's progress: The IPO itself progressed smooth as butter. ISK was collected relatively timely (one investor dropped out, but was easily replaced) and paid out in advance of both the planned pay-out dates. There were no early withdrawals nor any other issues. The forum thread itself proved relatively uneventful, which is a good thing. All in all the IPO proved to be a pleasant experience for myself and hopefully for the investors as well.

I will continue station trading for profit and running missions for standings. I am planning an industrial supply chain that should come into effect somewhere between one and two months from now and should provide me with enough goods at a low enough price to start having some fun in different areas of the market. Once I start up the supply chain, I will reassess the liquid isk reservoir I have as well as the size of the capital I could potential turn over and if the first is smaller than the latter I will come back with another IPO to further fund that project. I will also start looking at participating in all the other ventures EvE offers since a fresh PoV could potentially show me the way to even more profit. In order to not forget that there is actually a game in EvE outside of my wallet, I will also start spending a bit on random objects that catch my fancy. I do not want to be entirely submerged in the isk/hour mentality. I would also like to thank to people that invested in me. Things being as they are, people lending me 5B isk is equivalent to people lending me over 200 euro in Plex. If there are any questions and/or remarks, feel free to poast away.
