Sounds good, I'm in favor of moving it closer to Seattle in the future though. :)
As for AFK, my experience there was not great despite my hopes. Maybe this would be a chance for them to redeem themselves.
A suggestion for the future, Mox Cafe. Same crowd, different menu, closer to Seattle. :) |

exophace wrote:Kheket wrote:Getting the ball rolling: http://bit.ly/WaoO75I'm going to tally up all the info at the end of January and let everyone know where we stand. :) Dude, I'm still here and I never left. I've already tallied all the information from the forums and I was going to put in reservations for February 23rd once I gave everyone ample time to submit there opinions and votes (as per my previous post) which my internal deadline was this weekend. Don't worry, everything is on track and taken care of, Especially all the other little things that go with a meetup this size. Also, there are other people in the in-game channels that havent posted on the forums that I will be notifying.
You hadn't replied to the post in almost a month(3+weeks), I've been super active on the in-game channel and even went as far as adding you to my contact watch list. I waited a week before I acted on your inactivity.
I've posted the Google form link in both the forums and on the eve channel. My experience was that people in the TheSound were oblivious that there was even a meetup in the works. If you would like a link to the Google doc form let me know, as the date you mentioned is not the best date, taking into account the 10 people who have filled out the form.
Also, you really can't say you were here the whole time when your last comment was 26 days ago and the link has been up for half a week. |

Exophace, I do not understand why you are being such a ****. I'm glad your back but I thought you had dropped the ball or had gone inactive, it happens to the best of us, real life > internet spaceships. Truth is, we all enjoy the **** out of Eve and want to drink beer and be merry. I was not trying to start something, so please get that chip off your shoulder.
For others to read: I have forwarded the previous form data to Exophace, so unless you want to add some of the dates available below or make known the time you want to meet, you should not have to resubmit it. |

It was a challenge and an honor fitting everyone in for the perfect day, time, and location that accommodated everyone that was willing to participate and I felt helpless for the people that were logistically out of reach of myself and the majority of the group, hence why I have been trying to construct a simple way for everyone to attend meetings and meet their fellow pilots with minimal effort from the actual members that will be making the reservations and plans.
Alright, I will admit that my previous post is over complicated but please bear in mind it was a system that has already been proven reliable (the same system used for the previous meeting that everyone enjoyed immensely) and should scale effortlessly statewide. What it ultimately breaks down to is people making reservations and taking votes from, for, and with the other people that want to be involved with their areas meetings. You know, taking a little responsibility upon themselves in their own areas to make the meetings happen.
The natural logistics of everyones locations have already defined the areas we live in. Thats not just something I made up. ItGÇÖs simply where the majority of people who have revealed their locations live.
The frequency of meeting section is not me telling you what we're going to do and how often were going to do it. This isn't a power struggle. ItGÇÖs actually what members said they wanted; monthly, quarterly, biannually, and yearly meetings. It all comes down to a vote from everyone participating right?
I don't think I will be planning any more meetings any time soon.
:( You planned the first meeting very well IMHO. I have not weighed in on your previous plan but I do believe it is a bit bloated. If anything we should condense it down to region... East(Spokane area) Mid(Tri-cities) and The Sound(Olympia-North). As far as meeting locations you're going to have a difficult time getting anyone from the greater sound area to go south of Tacoma or north of Everett, but Seattle is definitely the nice squishy middle.
I think the best approach would be to figure out how often people want to meet as a whole. After you have that down, see how much interest people have in regional meetings or one giant state meet-up during the summer. Don't flood people with information but do it step by step.

I'm curious, what do Eve players do at IRL meet-ups? Just brews and BSing? LAN party? I've never been to an MMO IRL event except for WOW guild raids.

Sadness.
I did start a thread though about organizing something during PAX. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=267460&find=unread |
