I'm sure a couple people who signed up won't be able to make it, so I can't imagine there won't be enough space.
Like me. I'm sure you guys don't want me coughing all over you, so I'm going to give this one a pass and not share my germs. Hope everyone has a good time, and I'll keep an eye out for the next gathering. |

I would personally like to thank everyone that attended our event and AFK Tavern for hosting it!
It was an excellent event with 22-24 attendees, plenty to talk about, excellent food, excellent beer, and a very fun environment. I was extremely impressed with our topics of conversation which ranged from fanfest and fish-butt, to capital status, stealth bombers, and personal occupations. Not to mention an entire corp showing up for the first time, together - the essence of meta-gaming.
I personally learned an exceptional amount about everyone there; There styles of gameplay, there views on attack strategies and fleet fits, drink preferences, out-of-game background, and that 90% of you are hardcore PVP'ers (To my surprise for some reason).
It was an honor gentlemen and we will shortly schedule for many more events, as well as events in other parts of the state to accommodate everyone (Especially all of you in the east).
We will be making name tags and an attendance sheet next time by the way. My internal list stopped at the first 10 that showed up and was garbled by first, last, and in-game names. I extremely apologize for not calling anyones names out, as I meant to before the event started.
Thank you all again, exophace |

I believe I have came to a conclusion for the protocol for our future meetings. It will seem complex, but I think it will be the best bang for our buck.
The simplification of the system is creating areas of interest where the majority of our members subside. The majority of our members are located along the I-5 corridor centered in Seattle and the immediate surrounding area (go figure, damn-near half of us). But there are also lower numbers of members to the north, south, and further east. Which brings me to the conclusion of creating four areas of interest; WSC North (Spanning from Blaine to Everett), WSC Central (Spanning From Everett to Tacoma), WSC South (Spanning from Tacoma to Vancouver), and finally WSC East (Spanning a triangle encompassing Spokane, Wenatchee, Yakima, and Kennewick)
Broad Statistics by Area:
- WSC North:
Members: 6 (16%) Area: 83 Miles Members Per Mile: 0.07
- WSC Central:
Members: 17 (44%) Area: 62 Miles Members Per Mile: 0.27
- WSC South:
Members: 8 (21%) Area: 135 Miles Members Per Mile: 0.06
- WSC East:
Members: 8 (21%) Area: 175 Miles (Triangular Average) Members Per Mile: 0.05
In order to add organization to the meetings in these areas, I would like to implement primary and secondary meeting coordinators that reside in the areas that they would be planning the meetings in. That would be eight people (Four primaries and four secondaries total. One primary and one secondary for each area) that would coordinate, reserve, organize, and initiate the short-term meetings in their areas, as well as coordinate the long-term meeting with the other meeting coordinators.
Short-term meetings meaning monthly, biquarterly, or quarterly and long-term meetings meaning biannually or yearly depending on the area members voting preference.
Initial Frequency of Meetings:
- WSC North:
Frequency: Biquarterly
- WSC Central:
Frequency: Monthly
- WSC South:
Frequency: Biquarterly
- WSC East:
Frequency: Quarterly
- WSC (All Areas):
Frequency: Biannually or Yearly
Thats all I got guys. Simply the delegation to four people (with four redundants) across Washington to organize meetings (short-term and long-term) in four specific areas to accommodate all of our members. |

I feel at a loss that I have to explain myself because of two people that have insulted me rather than giving constructive criticism. It was a challenge and an honor fitting everyone in for the perfect day, time, and location that accommodated everyone that was willing to participate and I felt helpless for the people that were logistically out of reach of myself and the majority of the group, hence why I have been trying to construct a simple way for everyone to attend meetings and meet their fellow pilots with minimal effort from the actual members that will be making the reservations and plans.
Alright, I will admit that my previous post is over complicated but please bear in mind it was a system that has already been proven reliable (the same system used for the previous meeting that everyone enjoyed immensely) and should scale effortlessly statewide. What it ultimately breaks down to is people making reservations and taking votes from, for, and with the other people that want to be involved with their areas meetings. You know, taking a little responsibility upon themselves in their own areas to make the meetings happen.
The natural logistics of everyones locations have already defined the areas we live in. Thats not just something I made up. ItGÇÖs simply where the majority of people who have revealed their locations live.
The frequency of meeting section is not me telling you what we're going to do and how often were going to do it. This isn't a power struggle. ItGÇÖs actually what members said they wanted; monthly, quarterly, biannually, and yearly meetings. It all comes down to a vote from everyone participating right?
I don't think I will be planning any more meetings any time soon. |

:( You planned the first meeting very well IMHO. I have not weighed in on your previous plan but I do believe it is a bit bloated. If anything we should condense it down to region... East(Spokane area) Mid(Tri-cities) and The Sound(Olympia-North). As far as meeting locations you're going to have a difficult time getting anyone from the greater sound area to go south of Tacoma or north of Everett, but Seattle is definitely the nice squishy middle.
I think the best approach would be to figure out how often people want to meet as a whole. After you have that down, see how much interest people have in regional meetings or one giant state meet-up during the summer. Don't flood people with information but do it step by step.

Kheket wrote:[quote=exophace] go on pub crawls, toke up(Hey we live in WA, it's legal!) or whatever.
laughed at this; Pubs and legal weed in WA may serve as hurdles in gathering people together; we are all drunk or stoned, and organizing a gathering has got to be kin to forming a coalition-wide blood-drive or hearding cats, lol !
Keep up the good work and endeavors guys, one of these days me schedual will line up with a meeting or two, and I will be able to attend. On that note, anything going on in June/July? Planning a weekend in Seattle/Everett side, and the LAST thing I want to do is go *shudder* shopping with my wife and her friend......
SOMEONE SAVE ME
post-script Edit; Also, as a note to this threads success in bringing WA-Eve folk together, I was contacted by a local in my town (but not listed in this thread) letting me know that I wasnt the only person in Wenatchee that is a cheeto-stained Eve-Nerd. Op Success! Im just gonna put the tip in, just for a moment, just to see how it feels....-á |
