Having never taken part in the grief-fest that is Hulkageddon, I don't really know how the PvP dynamics will play out but I was wondering if this might work.
I pick a nice juicy asteroid belt with plenty of Hulks (if such a thing exists on Hulkageddon day/week), wait for gangs to blow the things up, they get CONCORD-ED and I suck in the loot (which I am assuming I can lock and tractor as it is "blue") with my Noctis.
The only flaw that I see is if some of the gankers survive CONCORD (i.e. they didn't fire any shots), and therefore I can't ninja salvage without attracting grief myself.
Perhaps I'm taking this too far, but I could fit a cloaking device, so as not to attract any attention until the loot is available.
Is this a sound plan? Or am I being a complete noob?  I'm thinking that given the waiting around, poor salvage and potential to get shot at myself - it might not be worth it. But I thought it might be an interesting use for the Noctis, with it's extreme tractor range.

First off gankers don't keep a schedule, you could be waiting hours in even the most busy system.
2 it is more profitable to slavage missions by a wide margin because the income is constant over a chance at T2 Hulk salvi, but it is your time.
3 if you or your corp did not kill it, you can not tractor it, a Frig with Salvi Tackle will serve you better for all your ninja needs.

That, and I highly suspect that a Noctis will be listed as a valid target, being an ORE manufactured industrial ship that never blows up under normal circumstances.

So might that include those who use the Noctis for "normal" PVE mission salvage? Could I undock, and find myself in a pod quicker than my HD4870 can process the polygons?

Hrm...maybe get a corpmate to hang a mining laser off of his fully buffer tanked logi and then sit around in a buffer tanked FR, cloaked, waiting for the ganker(s) to show up thinking it's a mining cruiser? :P
