IMAX 3D.
It was badass.
Some annoying parts of the story, but all believable (kinda).
Wish they did a light-cycle battle within the city (Come on, all that buildup on that bike just to forget it 2 minutes later?)
But those two complaints aside, everything about the movie was awesome.

Well, it can't be compared to a Daft Punk concert, as those a ****ing epic.
But yes the music was awesome, along with the awesome action next to it.

Daft Punk is awesome live! It's one of those things even if you remotely like them you will love them live. I speak from personal experience  Saw them in 07 and I would definitely see them again.

I loved it. Watched it in 2d though because of the people I went with but it was still OZOM!
I felt like I could have been watching a movie set in the EVE universe. Just change a few things like the style of the machines and the light disks to implants; BAM EVE MOVIE!

Went to a midnight showing on Friday morning (vacation coincidence ftw). Less than a dozen folks in the place (being Thu night and all), and my SD ticket was auto-upgraded to a 3D one.
3D for this movie is not a big deal; A msg at the beginning said that it has a bunch of 2D elements as it was filmed that way. Still, I was impressed that I did not notice the 3D much (the current tech has not been good enough yet for my sight - it tends to give me a headache).
Definitely getting the DVD when it comes out. Want to hear Boxlietner (sp) eat his words in the original anniversary DVD (said something along the lines that he'd not be caught dead in that costume again).  Oh, and someone please strangle the costume designer - why rubber? Probably would have been cheaper using neoprene, and the actors would have gotten free wetsuits as a bonus.
Despite everything though, I have faith in Disney again.  Not overly watered down, still decently dark, and was 100% worth the machinations to get in on an opening night (first time in about 15 years).
[Note - nothing here that could not be found ahead of time.  ]

Pretty good, overall. Seemed like they won too easily.
I listened to the soundtrack before I saw the movie, and wasn't tooo impressed. However, listening to it while the movie was playing was just ****ing awesome.

daft punk have that effect actually.
you listen to their albums and yes, they are good, albeit they don't seem to be that ZOMGAWESOME.
but when you go listen to one of their concerts, the result usually ends up in "MIND BLOWN!" syndrome.

I watched the original Tron back when it came out in the movie theaters as a kid, it blew me away - hell, it probably was a factor in me wanting to become a programmer some day, and the first real program I ever made was a Tron-bikes videogame on the C64.
Aside from the praises on this thread, I've also heard bad things about the new movie, albeit from a cinephile perspective, not a sci-fi freak one. Looking forward to this when it opens over here nonetheless.

Visual style aplenty and special effects bonanza with amazing sound and pretty decent acting for the material they had on hand,but storyline wise in terms of making actual sense,it flops hard,so don't go see it with that in mind.....It's a popcorn movie where you have to shutdown your higher brain functions and simply enjoy the fireworks...

The soundtrack is what really makes the movie for me I think. This was like 20 years of nostalgic fanboy rolled into two hours. Wanna see it again so bad

Awesome? no.
Daft punk? pretty good.
People easily impressed? very much so.
Michael Sheen? stole the show even though he was in it for @ 10 mins, more an indication of how light the characters were.
If you liked the original go see it.
