I was aware of the risk, and took it anyway, lost a little bit but not as much as i made doing so before, so no complaint. However this is the second time, the first time i warped away to get a hauler, then returned and found my can half-empty. Yet this time it happened right under my nose, now I was under the impression that with the latest patch i could fire on them,but was afraid to lose my osprey. Could someone please clear it up for me when I can retaliate safely? Just so I dont accidently get blown up by concorde. By the way I am talking about secure-zone mining. Thanks in advance, Zhealous. mutters something about swiss-french keyboards edit: Let me try to be more clear, I'm sitting in 0.7, mining. Someone shows up and takes from my can, can I shoot them or not? Actually under the new patch I thought they shouldnt be able to take them at all unless they were in my gang or corp or have a good personal standing. What am I missing?

But didn't they introduce something where no-one could put something in, or take something out of your can when you're mining? A friend cleared some of the cc's around me and wanted to store them in my can, but that didnt work until he was ganged, doesnt the same apply for taking from cans, i thought that was the case but a thief proved otherwise. Again, I took the risk because the rewards were good, but just a question out of curiousity. Thanks, Zhealous.

Or wasn't it a bug and is it still just possible to steal from a can regardless if someone's around? In that case, I suppose I'll keep it locked and destroy it rather than see it in the hands of a 'pirate' :-D Zhealous.

Without it being possible to take the ore, it would make mining a no risk business. Making it so that people cannot put things in your can stops them dropping illegals in there, which is good. I wish they had put in the taging so we could shot the thiefs more them you, I had bought 2 giant can I had 2 pay 300k for them and he stole them right out from under me and i could do nothing about it. so what we need to do I guess is start protesting to the people that made the game about these thiefs and have them do something, cause this guy make a liveing being a thief and I know of alest 5 others that do to and you must know of some and there is no telling how meny more is out there. Let us all tell the GM's and who ever we need to to put a stop to it, we do not need to have to worry about the thiefs and the rats as well.. Beware the sleeping Dragon, for he still knows all that is going on around him!!

Mmmmhmmm. Even though you've never been in combat before, youre ready to take on someone who actually will be knowing what theyre doing. Who will not be attackable by anyone but the individual/corp that he has lifted ore from. Accept the loss of ore, and realize that it could be much worse. Like someone using your ship as target practice. Or go to .4 and accept that someone can use your ship for target practice, but noone in a hauler can steal your ore. If they want to take the ore that we mine and what ever else then they will have to fly there best ship and be ready to die, look I am a nice guy I do my best to help others out I have given money to help people to get there ship and gear or what ever I work hard for what I gete and I am sure alot of others do as well but I am tird of dam thiefs taken it after i have work to get it, if they want it let them mine for it..... But maybe the idea fo being able to attack ore theives is flawed maybe just stoppin outside access to a can is the solution saves alot of combat and petitions for reimbursement. Due to lazy players like Ryctum we have a problem and without CCP making changes you still have options to protect or square things up. Make alt players track down and kill the thieve's it can't be done on your own but i'm sure you can find others to help, all you have to do is wait for the optune time and strike most ore thieves are of low intelligence as they are a form of scavenger. Always remember to tell them "You'll Keep" Navert & Shirly take note we are comming for you

Sorry to do this, but want to make it clear. Mr Jay is an ore thief, he has stolen ore from various systems and various corperations. Due to this activity, instead of whining that we cannot do anything about it, we declared war on his corperation. Since then we have had them blockaded in their station and us in ours. Each time we turn round to engage they either run or hide. They have probably killed 3 ships (no pods), all belonging to a guy who is 5 days into this game. His 1st lose was a ibis, he had the courage to undock during the blockade and gather some intel. Oh and Jay don't forget he nearly beat you in his kestrel while you were in a destroyer, except that you ran away.....again. Thanks Krug Head Of Diplomatic Relations ;)

He is in a player corp and does not apparently recycle his character from the looks of his sec status, etc. He has risk in his chosen profession. He is a rather persistent ore thief, so when you shoot him down, you'll be able to do it 2-3 more times in the next hour :) Charlie is fun to shoot :)

If the alt never joins a player corp and never leaves high sec space and never I dunno afk mines.. how can you react vengence? you cant. Well unless you got a few people fitted in kessies to missle storm them but ya know ya shouldnt have to do that. Shouldnt have to get 3-5 people to exact vengence on a thief. Thats the issue. A fix How bout making it so when you view a char's profile you can see the list of char names on the account? Hey wanna be a pirate be one.. least with this all your alts are known so no safe haven chars since you chose the road of the dark side, which is fine cause that was your choice so more power to you. This way all the ignorant twits hiding behind alts are exposed ... everyone is happy. I view it as part of the game really.. it's just like real life.. you will find plenty pieces of **** in real life you will find plenty in an online game like EVE.. they go hand in hand.. but least in real life I have the option of kicking thier teeth in or callin the cops... in EVE.... you have no defense for the alt thing. How about not leaving it there? or how about having a buddy with a cargo with you to take the ore (then split the earnings)? A thief is a thief. It's part of the game, I personally think it was made that way on purpose. What the hell is the risk if you can mine for free with little to no chance of failure? IRL, if one was mining in space, (were it possible, work with me here...) I'm sure they would fleet mine.. ie: have at least 1 miner and one cargo, possibly more. Stop crying about getting ripped off when you are LEAVING it there for anyone to take! Or better yet, if you don't like player interaction (and yes, in the EVE universe, pirates/thieves can be players), go play something offline! As for showing alts in the character view? It seems every MMORPG has people who whine because they can't get their way. Grow up.
