Hai guis
I have used excel for a while to create P/L manufacture type sheets, and have always just manually inputted jita price values, which is a slow way of doing things.
I'd be real grateful if someone could show me how to put a call to evecentral to fill these values for me automatically, If its a long winded thing to show me how to do it then even a link to an FAQ would be great
thanks o/

Perhaps a general run down of the basics, to help others with the same question?
(Like me, I am sure I can glean something new out of any advice given)

I use this in google spreadsseets ( so corp can access/edit etc...), but excel can't be tooo different can it? :p
=ImportXML("http://api.eve-central.com/api/marketstat?typeid=9832&typeid=44&typeid=3689&typeid=3683&typeid=9848&typeid=17887&typeid=16273&typeid=16272®ionlimit=10000002&minQ=12600", "/evec_api/marketstat/type/sell/min")
That displays various POS fuel prices, from the forge region i think, using the minimum price. http://eve-central.com/home/develop.html gives you some basic info. Remember though that eve-central is open to fake prices, and so your avgerage or whatever you choose may be wrong, I have a set avg figure next to the imported data, so it is is clear if it is being faked or not.
Hope this helps a little.

Would you be so kind and info us for which Excel version you want directions (as '03 is diff than '07 and I haven't any clue about '10, although I suspect '07 and '10 will be much the same for that)?

- Create your url string. Eve-Central will sometimes limit the number of typeIDs you can use in one API call so I usually limit the number of typeIDs to 15 or less. The 15 or less also helps when the url string becomes too long.
- Example: http://api.eve-central.com/api/marketstat?regionlimit=10000002&typeid=2867&typeid=2868
- Test the url string using a web browser. This will tell you if you made any errors when creating the url string.
- Copy the url from the web browsers address box. This makes sure you have a text version of the string on the clipboard. A copy from a cell within Excel may not paste properly.
- Create your web query...
- Excel 2003: Select Data -> Import External Data -> New Web Query.
- Excel 2007 and 2010: Select Data -> From Web.
- Paste the url string into the address box and press the enter key.
- Follow the remaining prompts.
I know these are very basic instructions but they should get everyone going in the right direction.
