I understand that I need to recover the Binary Transpositional Code from a Crook Patroller spawn in the Algintal belts.
Problem is, I've spent many many hours for the last 3 days hovering around these belts. I VERY occasionally see a Crook safeguard or a Crook Watchman... but I think I've only ever seen one Patroller (who naturally didn't cary the code).
Is there a trick to this I'm missing? When I used to go ratting, they were spawning all over the place. I'm sitting at each belt 20 minutes or so and there's most often nothing. I thought maybe spawns run out, so I've tried all different times of day.

If you're waiting for the right type of rat to spawn in your system's asteroid belts, then you should kill all rats. Rather than wait in a belt, cycle through all of them and shoot any red pluses you see. It still might take forever, but that'll improve the chances of you getting the type of rats you want.

Oh trust me, I'm killing anything and everything I find. Problem is there are only 5 belts in this area. At least 1-2 of those which are being mined at any time. And here I am wandering around for the 4th day straight, and I haven't seen a single red plus in the last hour or so. I don't know if this is just a matter of there being so few belts and active miners in the area or what. But it seems like if a COSMOS mission calls for this, it has to be a bit more possible than this 
edit: I just mentioned the camping bit... because after hopping and hopping and hopping and finding nothing, my only other choice is to wait a bit. I don't mind this taking awhile, but this is getting a bit nuts.
