Yeah, i've been saving the portraits of people i know in game also and updating them in the TS. Also i have been creating different celebrities, i love the new character creator GG CCP

No! They are butt ugly and the bane of a 'character's identity' in eve. You spend all that time at the beginning when you are a n00b creating what you think is a real avatar you are happy with... and then it turns out to be a 1.5 x 1 inch portrait that nobody can make out without a magnifying glass.
Good riddance I say.

Right click the person in chat and select "Capture Portrait", this will save a full size portrait to Documents\EVE\capture\Portraits.
Edit: I hope CCP tears out the old character creator and turns it into a standalone version, that would be aweeesome.

No, its about as logical as keeping your old cassete player when you have a CD player and an MP3 player... just why would you?
The new ones look a million times better..

Nope. Won't save mine. Wasn't really happy how my chars turned out and the options of the new cc are way superior.
There is no way to keep them ingame anyway - personal file with old char protraits and stuff like that anyone?
The only thing I hope for is, that we have some days for fiddling around with the cc (going back in there and refine ourself), as there will be many many people who won't like what they did to their new selfes after 24-48hours and the options for sculpting are not intuitive for the average joe.
If that's not possible I can only advice to everybody, that you don't accept your first result. Even if you took 2-3 hours to create it.
Make screenshots, write down option numbers for hair/colors/etc. but don't save it straight away if you're the kind of type who needs to sleep over something.

Already saved all of my Toons Portraits to HDD, was playing around with the new Character Editor on SiSi last night, I can only hope that there will be more hair styles/backgrounds/tattoos/clothing and eye colours(Amarr was missing the blue eyes/hair style/Clothes/forehead mark that I currently have) to choose from, I'll be spending at least a few hours on each toon trying to get it the same look as what I currently have.

I have no plan to wipe the current cache, question will be how it will go to implement the new one into the old one... but they will be available one way or the other.
