Please post link if I'm repeating some questions.
1. Is there a quantitative way of seeing other people's PI structures?
2. Can freightors access the spaceport? Is there any way of using freightors to haul?

1. Kinda, rightclick the planets surface to make sure you have the option enabled and you should see the CC's. If you scan for specific deposits you can see other people's extractors for that resource type. Click on either the CC or extractors, and you'll see the entire network. (Part of) it may be on the other side of the planet though. 2. I don't know for sure, but I guess as long as your using freight containers, it'll be fine.

i've never tried, but i'm pretty sure the only place a freighter can access something in space is inside an onlined POS. try it out and let us know if it works.

No, opposite. You can take stuff OUT of freight containers and put it in the cust. office, and you can take stuff out of the customs office and put it in your CARGOHOLD, but you CANNOT put items INTO freight containers at customs offices.
Personally, I took to having 5 freight containers in my freighter (one with stacks for each of the character's 5 planets), leaving 300k m3 open in my cargohold. I'd pull imports from the freight containers and put exports into my cargohold. Kept things nice and organized.

No. You cannot route from one extractor to another.

No. You cannot route from one storage to another. (You can manually move from one to another)
If you want to use multiple storage points look at
Extractor -> Storage 1 -> Processor -> Storage 2
or divide your production lines to 2 independent lines
Extractor Set 1 -> Storage 1 -> Processor Set 1 -> Storage 1 Extractor Set 2 -> Storage 2 -> Processor Set 2 -> Storage 2

So you cannot go Extractor > storage 1 > Processor 1 > storage 1 > Processor 2 > Launchpad ? You need a sperate storage?

Edited by: KaarBaak on 31/12/2010 14:25:16 You can go extractor to extractor (technically it goes through the subsequent extractor.)
Some setups require me to go:
Extractor -> extractor -> extractor -> launchpad (storage) -> Basic processor -> launchpad -> adv processor -> launchpad -> adv processor -> launchpad
If you do this, you likely have upgrade the last link from the extractor chain to the launchpad to handle the volume.

You can use the same storage unit. I was giving an example of options for separating production routes.
Sorry KaarBaak, you have a slight misunderstanding of the question/answer. The point was about routing, not linking. You can link any structure to another, but you cannot route materials from one extractor and deposit them into another.
Originally by: Zoid Lord 5. How much do other people's extractors affect mine? I remember reading about them but don't remember where and couldn't find it again.
Other extractors will reduce the deposit levels but it's not a major amount. At this point the hot-spots still remain where they are as the reduction affects the planet as a whole. I don't know how the upcoming changes will affect this.

AFAIK, there has not been an official response on how exactly it works on live (more people = lower extraction rate, but don't know how exactly). Of course, the whole extraction schtick is being changed in like a week, so it's kind of a moot point ATM. No idea how the new system will be affected.
Quote: 3. Say I put a command center (cc), and 2 extractors on a planet. Can I route extractor1 to extractor2, then from extractor2 to cc? I believe that the extractors have no storage so would the stuff from extractor1 be lost?
No.
You can LINK Ex1 to Ex2, LINK Ex2 to Command Center/Launchpad, then ROUTE Ex 1 to CC/Launchpad, but you can't ROUTE Ex1 to Ex2.

99% sure you can't route FROM storage/launchpad/CC TO storage/launchpad/CC. AFAIK, the best you can do is balance the output routing (half route to 1 launchpad, half to the other, that way they'll fill at the same rate).
