I won't want to sound harsh, but if it was in a System that was lower than 0.5 it was kinda your own fault as that space is considered as a PvP zone and you should have been warned prior entering that (pop-up).
If it was in a 0.5 and higher System, consider it as bad luck.

either go to a 0.4 - 0.1 and look in the belts or if your brave enough go to 0.0.

BTW people - I've put this post up in good spirits - don't get the wrong idea! Luckily all those hours I slaved mining were not wasted as I was insured by a very genrous (despite running a monopoly...) Eve underwriter.
I will of course continue to play this wonderful game. How can I say 'no' to the bounty already on Bible Dave's head?

It was in 0.4 space. I originated in 0.8 and was on the way to another 0.8 space... I did not anticipate going through 0.4 (autopilot... and then I snuck off to drink water - what was I thinking?  ), but now i know!

It's good that you learn these lessons early, before they become more expensive. It would have been worse if you'd just lost your first cruiser or something like that. Glad to hear you're upbeat about the whole thing. I rather enjoy the thrill of running through a low sec system with rats lurking about.

I will work my ass off for a while though to learn the ropes and gather a bit more dosh... it's the only way!

Dont worry oliie. I think he's just learning the whole pirate thing. Not sure if he can distinquish between new players and old players. usually doesnt check bio while blowing up ships. besides dont feel bad I've been killed by him and his friends about 12 times now. It feels good after awhile

That *****, Bible Dave got my alt while I was happily afk jumping in empire. My route went thru new hotspot, Kubinen, and while I was aware that there was two 0.4 systems in my autopilot course, I went outside :D. When I got back I was in station .. no harm done thou, lost my ship full of drones and had to get new clone. But the way bible Dave works is kinda lame, he jumps in pod to Kubinen and his friend brings his sniper apoc to him .. so concord don't get him. I would call that tactic ***** and lame .. infact CAREBEAR tactic  .
Oh and once there was retaliation going to get Dave, he logged off .. what a brave brave little pir8

too bad my rifter got nerfed too hell and back by the osab nerf it was fun too run a gatecamp in that thing drop out of warp *whoosh* make for the gate like someone shoved a red hot coal up my ass. (figuratively speaking tho' not really that would hurt.)

Welcome to Eve is what I'd say, we all, or most of us, got killed by a much stronger enemy at one point surely, but take it as encouragement to keep playing and get back at him or her. Play, Learn, Improve. Keep going, these experiences will make you wiser, and help you get to know more people in this community, I'm still in touch with some of the pirates that killed me actually, it's a role they play, doesn't make them bad people... well, most.
