Either ship will make for a fine looking killmail with T2 rigs.
You might catch some lost carebears ratting, but the first combat-ready lowsec dweller you run across will either fly away from you and your AB fits if he can't kill you, or he'll hold you down long enough for his gang to arrive.
The AB + scram fit will hold a solo fighter down if you can get him into range and he's napping at the controls while you wait for the ~6 second delay from decloaking to targetting.
The second fit with AB and long point might be able to keep a hulk tackled, but even an MWD fit pvp battleship will drive away from you if for some reason it can't roflstomp you.
You, on the other hand, have 0 escape possibility - and will die the first time you underestimate your opponent.

The stats do indeed look like a covops-cloaked drake. I mean you're paying what 600mil more and still can't break a ~400dps tank (hello cylone), or project damage better than a prophecy(a prophecy), vulnerable to neuts, and as said just being kited/tackled. I think any BC's going to ruin your day.
Try non-cloaky, HMs and scout/use the agility+don't mwd so as to not get caught at a gate? |

Only way to get a good pvp fit out of the cloaking tengu sub is to faction and complex fit the thing. Otherwise it is **** poor damage.

Pros: Very hard to hold down long enough to kill it, with you going 1.55km/s and webbing anything tackling you (and hitting them for full damage, even frigates) It can decide range to fight at and also can fire out to 81km with CN Scourge.
Cons: The Low EHP means it can be alphad, (same for most active ships) - Can be jammed easily and also could be webbed by a huginn, although if you switch to the huginn he will go down fast. - Neuts could be a problem aswell, but you should be able to get out of range of them w/ charges before dieing.

Edited by: Daneel Trevize on 30/12/2010 15:57:55 Your main problem is the huge EM hole. Your shows a better tank than the following because of in invuln vs photon. Endless Subversion's (or is it Garmon or someone else in hydra???) tengu is similar but a cheaper version is like this:

Needing 3%PG implant or more expensive RCU and maybe 1 CN HML.
Edit: Your CN photon doesn't tank better than a T2 and you have the cpu to depimp it. |

Ops fits are both trash. Active fits need massive pimping, pirate implants and siege + skirmish boosting. They are very vulnerable to neuts. Id personally go for mwd kiting "superdrake" tengu that doesnt rely on cn invuls or x-type boosters.

Now address the solo issue. Without his cloak, how best to not die to a bad gate jump? |

Best way is scouting/boosting t3. In lowsec you can do with mwd+cloak too.
Also his fits are so bad that he would get permatackled by first competent inty/af pilot or hed just die to first gank bc. Noob who thought he will get solopwnmobile with his new t3...

No disagreeing with that, but what if he doesn't have a skilled alt to be that scout+booster. I don't think you're suggesting a cloak on this tengu too (for 4 launchers, or the original cov ops cloak and still bad dps).
TBH OP, if you like the decloak-and-pwn-unsuspecting-people idea, consider a pilgrim or maybe a falcon? I know the rapier and arazu dps is rather pathetic. Also steath bombers have the dps, are cheap and fun but dont have hardly any buffer. Even cloaky proteus doesn't pack all that much dps and is also liable to being rather committed to the fight, though full tackle means you have a chance unless they neut you fast enough. |

Edited by: Lugalzagezi666 on 30/12/2010 16:51:30 If his alt can fly boosting t3 its bonus, but for "safe" travelling covops or even noobship alt /lowsec/ is enough.
And if he is afraid of getting blobbed /in his case 1 pvp fit bc would be enough tbh/ then he shouldnt fly what he cant afford.

Okay so No I didnt expect a solo pwn mobile. However I was curious how viable the cloaking subsystem was for solo roaming. I figured the w/o the cloak, the first person you see will call all his friends and kill you. not to mention gate camping. And i'd rather not spend all that much with x-type this or that if I plan on soloing with it.

Have you seen the stats differences between some of these fits? And maybe what a ganglinked T3 can add?
Do you still want the cloaky drake idea? Any DPS will kill most stuff, a cov ops cloak can keep you safe, you can kite most neuts with HMs. There might be a better SS/slot combo if you're specific about which mods(thinking mids & rigs here, tackle & dps combos) you must have. |

Covops sub will just kill your dps and you wont be able to gank anything before his support will land on you. So instead of dying to a gatecamp you will die because you take the bait... If you are afraid of losing ship you obviously shouldnt fly it.

Well I have an alt that can fly armor links, wouldnt take long to get seige links However I really want to solo in this, cloaky or otherwise.
I dont expect to wtfpwn everything. I just wanna have some fun with it. Doesn't need to be covert cloaky, just survivable

this is my typical pvp fit.
its basically a pve fit.
the way i use it, is my scout will obviously be a weak looing 100k ehp maller. when someone hits the maller and gets hit by gateguns, the maller will punish it for eating an obvious bait by web+scramble.
then this tengu will warp in at 120km bookmarks and murder it with 800 dps. it is unprobeable.
