Since there isn't a link to vexor setups in the Ship Setups topic, now is the time to make one.
I currently use a blaster setup, mainly for missons, never got the chance to test it in Fleet/PVP.
High: 4x Heavy Ion Blaster (AM / Thorium) and a Small Nosferatu (Named)
Mid: MWD/AB (Deadspace or not), Webber, Cap recharger
Low: t2 Med Repairer, 2x hardner, cap relay
Drones: Take a mix of medium drones, I like the Valkyrie / Vespa combo.
The skills are quite low (tanking/cap recharge skills to IV, weapon upgrades 3 mainly)
I tried fitting this with dual 150's or 200's but I didn't get damage (even when fitting a lot of dmg/tracking mods) or tanking. I am, however, looking for a good rail setup.

I use :
High : 3x 150mm rails (Named), 2x Med nos (Named)
Med : AB T2, Webber, Cap Recharger
Low : Med rep (Named),2x hardener, cpr
Drones : mix of Hammerhead/Valkyrie
mainly intent as a support role to stop frig tacklers in fleet combat,
it does what it's supposed to.
Perhaps there is a better setup for this but I don't have a lot of skills yet
so atm this works just fine for me.

for fleet battles get all nos on top and 13-15 drones out get 1med rep t2 and 3 hardners in med slots webber ab2 and cap battery
you need to find something to nos to keep your tank going but your not going anywhere unless you got 3+ cruisers ganking you

The Vexor was my first cruiser.. God how i loved that ship.
I would go with either small guns(with good skills) or Named 250 rails such as Scouts etc etc.
My old cruiser pounded hard with the 250's

My setup for level 3 kill missions:
3* 200mm Rails (10km optimal with AM, 30km with iron)
1* small NOS
1* AB 10MN
2* Cap Recharger
2* Hardener (depending on NPC damagetype
1* medium armor repairer
1* capa power relay
12 medium drones
1 small drone
1 large drone
Can do ALL level 3 kill missions with it. takes long to run out of cap.
I could fly a BC...or BS....but the vexor still is fun
Flying big ships is for the weak!

Define Small Guns Slothe.
Are we talking 125mm Rails, Gatling Rails, Blasters????
I am about to get my first Vexor and would like to know the best setup. My Weapon skills are still pretty low. I am effective out to about 10 or 12km with my 150mm Rails now. And i think i need to keep up that distance to be balanced. But i am not sure.
Any info you guys can give would be great.

I would say like others to use 150mm rails, good ROF, good range, nice falloff, u can actualy hit about 10km with Am without problem, 20km with tungsten and a bit more with iron!
With low skill small guns are sure better, beacause for hit fast enemy with med guns u need nice skills, and with small u hit way often and u make good damage at same!

he uses 150mm (named / T2 obviously)
you MUST have good drone skills for it to be effective (scout drones @ level 4/5, heavies @ 4, drone interfacing 3/4)

Hmm.. I switched my shield hardener to one large shield booster and got some interesting results. Currently 2100hp shield with 700sec recharge.
This change seems to be more ideal setup for NPC fightings, since nowdays those deadspace entrances jump you to middle of the enemies.
That litle extra time the booster gives, is just enought to get you away from the enemies (with 500m/s setup) for you to lay back and snipe the enemies while drones do the hard work.

Well, my setup covers also speed.
High: Heavy Beam Laser, Medium Focused Beam, 2*Medium beam, smartbomb
Med: Medium Shield booster, 10MN AB, Large Shield Extender I
Low: 2*PDU, 2*Nanofiber
Drones: Atleast 18, with varying mixes
Speed: 500+m/s
Basic tactic is to warp in, orbit at 40km and shoot shields down with long range beams and wait for drones to pop the can. If anything gets close, then the medium beams are for close defence.

My Vex is running 2X dual 150mm 2X250mm rail1s, these were given to me from a friend who salvedged them from a battle he had a few weeks back, they seem to have a slight range difference of 38km and im still pulling 20-30 damage at 42km, i will always try and keep the enemy at range with a 10mn AB along with 3 overdrive injectors, 100mm reiforced and, medium shield booster. if the enemy ship is closing in on me ill switch from 250's to 150 duals and release 5 hammer haead drones (learning heavys), if somehow they managed to catch me ill enjoy some smart bomb action before warping out;)
Im still rather fresh faced in combat though as im quite new to Eve, .4 .3 belts dont seem to be a problem though, havent had the guts to go any further alone,
Setup has out ran 4 tristans from 12km to 30km, taken out Exequror, Vexor and Thorax.
Please note all enemys were nprats

also you could try for pvp:
5 nos
web, scrambler, cap recharger
just a nice armor tank(im not good with armor tanks so i wont give advice)
the way you will be getting dmg is by your drones, so i recomend good drone skills if you are going to do this.

I think the Vexor is one of the best cruisers, I can easly take a 4 Cruiser spawn with 110k's and 90k's. Drones rule, I just fit small guns so I can tank better. I don't really fly it to much anymore but sometimes it's just fun with the drones.

Yeah, against NPCs, especially Serps, it works wonders. Carry a webber though, and the Vexor's limited powergrid will give you a hard time fitting all the essential stuff. With good drone skills it's rather fun, and can do every lv III missions without warping out (except Silence the Informant stage 2 -Damn Merc commanders-)

Well, here's my solo-hunting setup...it's meant to be a frig killer:
High: 3x 150mm I with antimatter, 2x Med Knave NOS
Med: 10mn MWD, named webber, scrambler
Low: Named med armor rep, 2x CPR, WCS
AND: 4 ogres, 7 hammerheads
This setup seems to perform quite nicely, but you have to pick your fights. Against cruisers I prefer my Rax. Rely on the drones to do most of the damage.
Frigs are toast

Even light drones work well if you have good skills, plus then you have 2 full waves of drones, and becasue they move so fast they are hard to hit and can keep up with some intys. I've taken out tanked up mallers with lights

That should all fit, although CPU may be tight. Should tank very nicely, and have plenty of firepower.

My setup is aimed towards lvl3 missions, and needs to inflict damage at ranges over 20km while being able to stop and drop tackling frigates and handle missile spammers, so...
Highs: 2x 250mm named (AM or Uranium), 2x 125mm named (iron or iridium), SB for missile defence
Mids: 10MN AB, CR, Web
Lows: Med armour rep, 2x CPR, WCS
Drones: 9x hammerheads (training more...)
This is just about OK for surviving spawns with Mordus Bobcats, Cheetahs and Katanas... but only just and I'm still experimenting. I'm no egg-spurt, but as replacing a Vexor is a lot cheaper than replacing a Thorax, my ship choice is easy. This is also why I don't go mad for named or T2 stuff, as I can't afford to lose a few mill of stuff on top of the Vexor itself. |

A Vexor fitting I have come up with:
High: 4x dual 150mm with Plutonium (¦9.500m optimal (I hate to let bonusses go unused))
Med: 10mn ab, webber, cap recharger
Low: med armor rep, 2x hardener, 800mm armor plate.
+ Set of assorted drones.
For pvp I was thinking of replacing the med guns with 2/3 small ones, fit an MWD and a couple of med nosses.
Not tested anything tho, so let me know what u think :)

The thing I really like about the Vexor is its flexibility. I set it up to start running lvl 2 security missions. The corp I am in just got dec'd on so I was looking for some PvP set-ups.

When I moved up to the Vexor I am just wasn't getting the damage I needed. Last night we were doing some fun testing and I still don't hit for crap with my rails. So, I think I need to increase a few more combat skills but I have a long list of skills that I need to work on
I like the:
High: 3xHeavy Ion Blaster, 2xMedium (named) Nosferatu
Mid: AB, Webber, 2xCap Recharger
Low: 2xHardener,Cap Relay, Medium Repairer
Decent Pvp?
7 Heavy Drones, just finished drone V and Heavy Drone :)

7 hammers = 7*100 = 700m¦
total= 1700 m¦
now i may be wrong but vexor has 1500m¦.
