Quote: #11 On June 18th, two Christians decided that they would peacefully pass out copies of the gospel of John on a public sidewalk outside a public Islamic festival in Dearborn, Michigan and within three minutes 8 policemen surrounded them and placed them under arrest.
I'm sorry but the amount of times I've seen some Americans make it big news about Islam invading their country, or rioting against the opening of a certain said Islamic centre or whatever.... How is No. 11 a stupid thing?
Talk about hypocrites... "Can't arrest Christians.. but don't worry about those Islamic folk, they're fine to arrest." Stupid Americans

Maybe someone should start a "14 ridiculous things 'merkins aren't being arrested for" thread.
Can we start with removing the letter "u" from colour and armour?

This. Some people get away with some CRAZY **** in this country when they're obviously guilty.
Also, I noticed a good few of those being at our public schools. Those are the only ones that I have no trouble believing at all. Our public school officials are the biggest pricks and bastards that I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. It wasn't long ago that a young boy was suspended from his school just for bringing those little green army men to school, not to mention the school somewhere in the south that refused to let a lesbian student bring her partner to the prom, and ended up getting tied up in the courts for the longest time.
As for the rest, pics or it didn't happen.

Many legitimate news stories over the past few years would not have been brought to the forefront if not for Fox News. Much of the American media is still slavish and slobbering over Obama.

irrational hatred of Christians? I am Christian... It doesn't take a very smart person to understand that handing out religious literature at another religions gathering isn't going to be taken well: no matter how peacefully you do it.
I don't understand how anyone could say otherwise

There's a big difference between it "won't be taken well" and suggesting that they ought to be arrested. You supported their arrest.

Yup and I still will continue to. The Article cited in the link is rather biased in it's opinion in what should and did happen. Until I know what ACTUALLY happened - inciting religious tensions is wrong. Core belief of Christianity is the acceptance of other religions - even if we view them as "wrong."
The link was biased. Show me a better link in which tells a more convincing middle road and I'll tell you whether I'll change my views or not. A country could NEVER protest at the building of an Islamic centre, or whatever it was, near the Twin Towers site and then tell me that arresting these Christians was wrong. Just the same thing reversed...

LOL....
Locally in Central Florida, police are cracking down on prescription drugs. When they stop you for a traffic violation, they look around the car for prescription bottles. If they see some, they'll make a lot of questions about it. If it happens to be prescribed for somebody other than yourself (like a son, or a girlfriend sick back at home) they will give you hell.

I didn't even provide the link, so I'm not going to go hunting down another for you. I assume you can use Google as well as I can.
That said, you are the one doubting the information in the origional post, so it really ought to be up to you to try to disprove it. That's what I would do if someone posted a link that I disagreed with. If you can find a story that they were doing anything other than asserting their constitutionally recognized rights, have at it and maybe I'll agree that they were doing something that ought to warrant arrest. I have my doubts, though.

In both cases the local governments sided with Muslims over non-Muslims.
In New York, the local government had a constitutional leg to stand on because it has to guarantee equal treatment of citizens regardless of religion. Most of the people who object to the Ground Zero mosque probably recognize that the developers have a right to build it, they just it's a lousy idea and is a symbollic "victory mosque." Which isn't surprising givens ome of Rauf's writings.
In the OP's link, if the Christians were simply handing out literature, and even if they were outright protesting Islam, that is not an arrestable offense in the United States.

In Texas it's front license plates. By law, you must have one on the front of your vehicle. But on technicality, you can put it in your front windshield instead if you drive a vehicle (like a Corvette) that is not made for front plates.
I got pulled over so many times I finally asked for a letter signed by the judge that I can shove in the face of the officer. I still get lit up once every 4-6 months, but they can't ticket me.

Seriously, there's not a single example in that link that you think is government overreach? Do you really believe a 70 year old lady should be roughed up and arrested for not submitting to a parade of questions over why her lawn was dry which isn't even a crime?
Do you really think a 10 year old girl should be arrested and charged with a felony because she brought a knife to cut her lunch at school and everyone admits she never threatened anyone or used it inappropriately?
Seriously? You think *arrests* are the proper response to these situations?
