Just wondering how profitable R&D agents are nowadays with the current market? Obviously this wont be exact but how much profit can a person look toward having a couple lvl 4 r&d agents monthly?

Somewhere up to about 20M ISK/month, depending on the agent.

It's not much at all really. But once you grind the standings up it's free ISK you dont have to do any work for :)

Now mind you, the only reason I have this is because I can fly a HIC. However, the requirement for the HIC bubble is Gravitron Physics to 4.
With a level 4, low quality Lai Dai agent, I net 125 research points per day, which amounts to about 125k per day with no effort at all. I'm not doing the extra missions or anything, and I have only the one R&D agent. (I don't have the skill to run multiple research jobs.)
Also, I'm not shooting for the most profitable datacore. It's simply what I can get without any additional training. Still, if you assume 5 more similar agents, only doing passive gain, no missioning, you are looking at about .75 mil per day from datacores. Honestly, not a huge profit.

yeah I have 4 agents, tops quality with laidai and it's still **** I get like 6datacores caldari spaceship and they go for like 80k each that's a total of +-300k/day it's still crap kill a lvl4 rat and you make more than that and I still had to put the effort to bring my standings with that corp to 6+
per month that's 9mil isk it's a joke but luckly I have R&D skills and use them to invent blueprints and build t2 ships otherwise it's really not worth to work on getting the standings for 9mil isk per month.
I guess if you want to make some isk out of this then go for what's worth most in jita otherwise don't even bother if you don't plan on using them yourself.

As usually, most of the people who really know the answer won't tell you their strategy. All I can say is that since the ending of RP gain in ghost characters, datacore prices have dropped. I think that most people that had created inactive accounts to get some easy isk just activated the accounts and collected the Datacores they've been farming. At least, I hope that's the reason being the price drop.

So you probably want to assume about 20-25m per month for good level 4 Mech Engi agents.

Ahh so a load of Datacores have flooded onto the market from inactive characters before the Ghost Farming fix, driving prices down... well hopefully this will correct itself over time.

I get about 70mil per month worth of datacore with 4 R&D agents (2 characters with same so 140m per month). I leave it for at least a year...it is hardly worth the effort picking them all up if your not getting ~1bil..

If someone were to give you 1 bil isk (or more) once a year you would take it. R&D agents have the potential to do just that (if you put in the skill time) so its gotta be done

My cyno account has 3 characters, each running 5 jobs. On average ~100m / month per character (some agents are not the most optimal as they are all in one corp). Meaning that I have to support the account with ~50 .. 100 m per month. They are not doing mech engineering, as the corp they work for does not have good mech eng angents. They also have all agents in single field (conserving some sp, as those skills take some sp to train).
It is still worth it for now as having your cynos on separate account than your mains is comfortable. Ofc after the learning SP refund I could in theory get away with making one of the alts on each of my main accounts cyno capable, but it would be a bit more uncomforable, juggling with those cynos and having to log off one of your capitals if you need the cyno. I take that separate cyno account as insurance cost of my capital ships as I can have my own emergncy cyno ready within jump range should major crap happen and I would need to get out in real hurry after jump in.
The initial idea was to have the account keep itself ticking with datacores and thus to have a 'free' account. With increased PLEX price the account is no longer 'free'. Not to mention the ~80 jump roundtrip to cash in all those cores every once in a while.
