Edited by: Ganjitos on 03/01/2011 20:58:25 am studying a spaceship that could Garat my isks. I'm a Caldari pilot, and I'm progressing crusair V, intending Strategic cruiser. Tengu ends sanctum alone? In EFT, I could not cap stable using the medium / large shield booster, without sacrificing DPS.

It is possible to setup a Tengu with 2x small gistii b-type boosters that will EASILY tank sanctums.

I've never done a Sanctum, so maybe they aren't geared towards the hardest levels, but I'd imagine there would be tons of frigates that would web. Just one = death. In a multi billion isk ship you don't want to take that kind of risk.

tengu is faster than every webbing frig in missions, so even if there are a bunch of npc webbers in sanctums they shouldn't be a problem.

I've been caught by webbing frigs in lvl 4 missions before, which were travelling much faster than my 600+ m/s...
But the Tengu should have no problem running Sanctums with a standard PVE setup.

below is valid for gurista sanctums, others I haven't run with tengu
1) tengu with AB can move fast enough that frigate rats will never catch you. (warp to 50-70 km) 2) I have NEVER been webbed in sanctum anomaly, are webbers even there? not sure, haven't seen them 3) you do not need to be cap stable. with large booster my cap lasts about 2 minutes and it's more than enough. I only pulse 1-2 cycles at the end of spawn 4)being webbed =/= death as it was stated here. you have crazy resists and low sig, and take little damage from missiles. Sometimes I loot BS wrecks, when I approach them ship obviously stops and takes more damage but this damage is far from deadly 5) even if you get webbed, with TP you kill most frigs in 1 shot. tough ones 2-4 shots.

with this fit you can tank the gurista sanctums for fun, its not cap stable but thats no problem because you dont have to run the booster all the time
more than enough dps to pop even the toughest bs.
if you feel comfortable you can change cap recharger for painter, i dont really need it, precision missiles kill frigaets so damn fast and with this rigs (which are quite cheap 80m +- each)
if you need more tank (which i really doubt) go buy yourself the pith a-type medium shield booster for 950m isk...
the CN BCUs are a must. the republic fleet 10mn ab can go deadspace but you dont Have to... True sansha cap recharger is just something i got from a rat so no you can fit t2 with the same stats. (to avoid trolls no guristas didnt drop this )

Wow, paranoid much?
The only way you'll get caught (like I did) is if you get ****y and don't warp out when hostiles enter your system.
Tengu can solo any Sanctum with ease, I'd say, no matter what NPC's you're up against. The more you spend, the easier it'll get.

In addition to the above post: always have a safespot ready for warp, and have bookmarks off-grid from stations to avoid bubbles - there are plenty of chances that those two reds/neutrals you see in the system are interdictors placing bubbles and covering most important directions( gates, JBs).
I cannot stress how quickly an interdictor can place bubbles like that...or how quickly a covops vessel with a covops cyno can jump in a horde of bombers/recons etc.

If you are worried about the possibility of getting jumped just use a drake. A properly tanked drake can easily do a sanctum solo without the need for constant worry. Hell you can practically do it while watching tv with a perma running Afterburner. Drop your drones after aggro of each wave and let them work on the cruisers/ frigs. It does take a while because of the low dps (takes about 12-15 heavy missles to kill each bs using t1) but it's also not a pain if its lost to a gank. Also....If you want to actually pay attention you can salvage while you kill.

Ok so this does all anoms without even thinking about it. Takes in around 20 mill per wallet update. Looks a little expensive but the amps are really cheap. Think the whole thing cost about 1.2bill. Replace the TP for a DG boost amp and you have a tengu that can do everything upto 8/10 solo with ease. I think it would also be able to do higher but most of those plex's have neut battery's or citadel torp launchers.
Oh and obviously this is for vs guristas.

I invoke the power of Liang...
Rigors help you by better applying the dps your missiles do against smaller targets, such as frigates and cruisers.
"This ship modification is designed to decrease the signature radius factor for missile explosions at the expense of increased CPU requirements for launchers."
Especially useful if for the use of t2 fury ammo, wich you SHOULD have on the Tengu, against almost any enemy.

T2 Med SB T2 SB Amp 2x T2 Hardener T2 AB
and your fine doing every guristas **** out there except 8/10 and 10/10.
In Sanctums this fit is also much overtanked. on a normal ring sanctum i dont even have to put SB on. Only in large havens i have to take SB on more than 5 cycles (because of teh webs).

Rigor rigs reduce the explosion radius of your guided missiles, effectively given you better damage application against targets.

I was able to run the Gurista 8/10 with a cap stable Tengu, using only 2 gistii b-type small shield boosters. They're not cheap( last time i bought a pair that was 80 million), but if you keep your speed up, you'll be able to tank anything sanctums throw at you. Invest in a faction afterburner and you can skim it down to just ONE small shield booster(it's probably overtanked with two).

Can confirm that Tengu tanks all but those jumboTorpedo and/or neutralizer Guristas encounters with only one deadspace small shield booster, especially if you fit it for kinetic resistance + shield boost amp + T2/faction AB. Even a Pithi C-type would do... it's the combination of signature radius, resistance and speed that keeps your shields up.
Webbers negate speed, but you will only have at most a couple webbers on you at any given time, who will be vaporized long before you get in any sort of trouble (if ever, since a lot of times I could sit perfectly still with a stable shield , I mostly kill them first because they tend to scram as well and ability to GTFO at any moment is nice in anything below 0.5 space)
You notice the significance of sig+speed tank especially well in the last room of the 8/10 Guristas complex, where the most dangerous ships are the battlecruisers (which you can two-volley with nice fit+skills). I never go below 90% shields there.
As far as Guristas is concerned, this thing is the last word on agile PvE'ing.
