The wrecks aren't even yours. They belong to the Serpentis, Guristas, etc...
If you can't have a corpie or dual account salvaging right behind you, then take in account that time not spent salvaging can be spent running more missions, getting more LP, bounties, and mission payouts. Last I saw, you can use ISK to buy salvage.
If you value salvage over LP and isk, why not scan out missions at major mission hubs and salvage others' wrecks?
Never had a ninja come salvage, but if he did, instead of shooting the wrecks, I'd just use an 8 tractor beam noctis to quickly scoop up all the jetcans of modules he left behind.
Here's an idea for ya. Salvage the first room before you continue on. Might lead a ninja into believing you just started salvaging right in front of him, and he might leave. Possibly leave 1 jetcan named "scraps" since metal scraps take up alot of room and not worth much (5m^3 = 1k isk). That would lead him to believe that salvage has already been performed.
Also, bookmark a wreck in each room and turn in the mission asap. This will remove the accel gate and break the link between all the rooms. This will also allow you to warp from room to room without having to slowboat to each gate. (For when you don't want to turn in mission so you can mine)
For dualboxers, on multi jump missions, you can fly an orca with a rigged BC or HAC in ship maint bay and a repackaged noctis in the orca's normal cargohold. (Or you can put a salvaging destroyer and BC in ship maint bay) Saves time flying back home to get your salvage ship. Roid missions you can also put repackaged hulks in there too.
Park the orca in the mission's nearest station and run the BC thru the mission. Come back to station and grab the salvager and hulks if you want to mine after salvage.
Single accounts can fly orca to mission system, park orca in station, use the BC or HAC and come back to grab salvager. If mission is in your 'home' system, fly back to station and clear the first room to give appearance that multi room mission has been salvaged.
