Went out just now to find myself another PLEX, and was I ever surprised to enter Dodixie and see the prices? According to the market history, the prices for PLEX have dropped about 11% in one month, reaching the lowest point since September of last year.
Personally I expected that with PI and more passive incomes for everyone, the prices would go up rather than down. What do you think happened? Everyone's trading PLEX to buy Tengus?

No, plex shot up in anticipation of remap-for-plex, which was floated as an idea by CCP and then withdrawn after much rage ensued re. microtransactions. Over the last couple of months that's the biggest reason plexes went way up, and why they're back down now.
There aren't all that many people doing PI according to one CSM member who's under NDA to not disclose the actual number ccp gave them. |

I don't know exactly what happened, but the first reply is a good guess. Just wanted to point out that PI is not pumping ISK into the game, because there are no NPC orders for PI materials. When you profit from PI, you are just taking someone else's ISK, nothing gets generated by itself.

Meanwhile what in the hell is up with Standard implant prices? 26mil for Neuro? A fellow can't afford to pvp in his implants anymore.

Could there be correlation perhaps. Is there all of sudden less NPC corp people ratting in drone regions 23/7 ? Something is lacking tho - the lamentation in general section about being honest guy (honestly, right) and getting banned all of sudden by the evil CCP.
The amount of threads about "i'm not RMT isk buyer honest, but evil CCP removed all my isk" seems about the usual as well.
So there is few possible reasons - either people turn more towards PLEX over the illegal isk thus increasing PLEX supply or khm .. someone(s) are quietly sneaking around and handing out unpleasant surprises for bot runners. As world is not black and white usually it might as well combination of both.

I think the plex market is one of those up and down markets. Right now the market price for plex's has been falling but I think that is more due to people starting to flood the market. When CCP said they might let you do a remap with a plex it caused people to buy more of them and that drove the price up, then people saw they could make a lot of isk with it so they bought more plexs to sell.
The other side you have to look at is the GTC Market, as the price of GTCs went down, more people began to sell plexs instead of GTC's. So as one prices goes up, the other goes down and so on.

microtransaction is one thing, however, don't forget about all the teenagers who gets their money at christmas/new years. thats another load of plexes flowing into market |
