Had a browse last night for some Drugs to try and complete a quick drug mission (yes i know its not worth it but i was bored and wanted to look)
Er...this is messed up it seems EVERYTHING on escrow over 50k is just a Shuttle of one form or another renamed something else.
in fact EVERY SINGLE ESCROW i looked at (about 20 or so) that were over 20million were ALL shuttles named +4 implant or Geddon BPO etc...whats the point?
Surely only nubs fall for this and they dont have the cash it just crams up the escrow service with ****e and makes it unusable =/
Just wondering if anyone actually REALLY still uses this thing and if there is anything that can be done to "fix" this "problem".
I would love a search function that lets me search for an escrow holding an actual item i want to search for rather than having to dig through 1000 fake or meaningless descriptions to try and find what i want =/

Some loser prolly spammed it since there's no limit on how many a single person can make and it only holds the last 150 escrows before they drop to regional.
When this happens the magical mystical fairy queen comes along and blats them all, looking at it now it's back to normal.

You have to pay a broker when you use the market.

I was using escrow to see where i could buy drugs as i can't seem to buy in stations and out of curiosity.
yeah maybe it was spamming ALL the implant "scams" where by some twit names Krusty clown but there were a lot of others too.
Just depressing really.

Perhaps it is an idea to fix the discription so the user cannot alter it? The items you put on escrow would then automatically make up the description. Limit the maximum no. of items so you don't get descriptions a mile long. I'd say that would take care of Escrow scamming. That is, for noobs who don't use the inspect merchandise feature...

Well, since CCP refuse to either make running scams illegal outright, or giving us the tools to filter them out, there will always be infants who feel the need to either rip people off, or more likely, make a point about how poorly implemented the system is.

Yep. Make it so you don't see escrows from people on your blocklist. Frequent feature request.
And bluntly, DON'T use escrow for higher value items. Period. It's fine for BPC's of course...

I've said it before but I'll say it again ;)
Stuff that can be put in the market should be only on the market. Officer/Faction loot therefore would be escrowable... but standard items/loot would only be available on the market... UNLESS you're restricting to a particular player, corp or alliance when you can put whatever you like into the escrow. Who's going to scam their own corp/alliance? :D
BPC's/BPO's obviously still on escrow but this would make the market the market (duh) and escrow for what its meant to be used for... transfering items between players or as a backup for items the market sits and scratches its arse whilst trying to work out wtf it is...
Only downside I'd see is the market isn't currently capable of viewing outside the current region... but either thats something we'd have to live with or a minor market update to let us view the market of other regions...
Heck doing this would mean trade skills actually meant something, rather than giving them the finger and using escrow instead ;)

Because the market has been nerfed to hell and back. Even with 2 months of training the trading nerf skills to the maximum, you get outrageous broker fees and taxes. And of course the far too low order limit.

Yeah the market nerfing does blow, I'd have to agree with that so escrow does serve a valid purpose not to mention you can sell stuff on escrow without being limited to a particular region but as for the multitude of scams that seem to be on escrow just make a habit of inspecting the item before you buy it, not that big of a deal. And if you buy something without inspecting it first well, sorry to say but you kind of deserve it (and no i don't do that sort of thing)

It's region limited.
Remote selling is jump limited.
You can't restrict a sale to an individual or corporation (ie;trading between alts or corp members).

imo ccp should make it so you cant put normal market items on escrow for all only for specific ppl, so the escrow will be bp only. Since the normal market take named items now.
