Hey everyone, I am a pvp player on this character and my alt is a miner. I was wondering why hulks are going up in price. this is very troubling since most of the people who buy hulks in high sec do not have the materials, means, or access to build their own hulks. With the hulk prices increasing, less miners who are not already in a hulk will have a hard time getting into one and building equipment for pvp players. This would mean that other prices go up as well, so what I would like to ask is why did hulk prices go up by a substantial amount ( 50 mil in less than two months ).

hulkageddon!!!!
might have something to do with the moon goo or mineral market, but I don't really follow either of those too closely.

hmm yes hulkageddon is pretty influential with hulk prices, but this increase was happening before then.

It's anticipatory in this case. People are stocking up on hulks now since they know the prices will keep rising, and the plan is to dump them for a profit at the peak. There are going to be a lot of hulks dying and someone has to profit from it. ---------------------------- Outta my way... |

people stock up on hulks because they think that (other people stock up on hulks because they think that (other people stock up on hulks because they think that (other ... (many miners will have to replace hulks during hulkageddon) ...)))

Hulks are very technetium-heavy compared to other T2 ships. Technetium keeps increasing in price (slow upwards trend plus recent "0.0 politics" things), Hulk prices keep increasing too. This will continue for a while, until a while after Technetium prices stabilize. _

a combo of all of the above, mainly the tech prices, major driving force of most T2 and particularly Hulks, combined with Hulkageddon and not to forget the fact that people with both stock and money are unleashing them at a fixed price while wiping out competition. ( believe the word starts with an M and somehow ends with ation)

Edited by: Alice Pink on 12/01/2011 08:18:35 Basically you can blame my alliance. We've been ping-ponging tech moons with the NC for a few months now. Reinforced POSes don't mine tech --> supply goes down.
Edit: But you can blame the NC more. Often when they put up their POS, they won't have a moon harvester on it for a week or two.
