I hear a lot about macro miners in 0.0 and such. I was wondering if there was a specific system or region in 0.0 where macro miners or macro ratters are rampant.

You'll hear that about them often, as you will also hear about pretty much every other major alliance in null. In truth there's bound to be some bot's in some of them when you take into account the total alliance members. No way to tell however if the Alliances in question actually support the idea or condemn it.
All in all it comes down to rumors and not much else.
Rumors are all I need to begin to investigate to further my mischief!

*looks around*
most of the roids are eaten up in this system, only one character in system, does this mean bots are afoot?

bots are hard to find. These forums lie about the "rampant problem of bots".

I can name a dozen systems with macro ratting carriers in russian space(xxdeath/red). However the problem is, all the macros have a O *** NEUT/RED IN LOCAL function that results in them either possing up, cloaking up or logging. The carriers tend to pos or log. Other ratters tend to cloak or pos up. Miners tend to pos up.
Gimme the most populated one. Just curious.

For finding macro ratters: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Insmother#npc24 http://evemaps.dotlan.net/map/Cache#npc24
Any system that is above 6500 is at the macro level, not even heavily populated systems in the north with hordes of ratters can touch 9000 kills/24 hrs.
For finding macro miners you need to find the level 5 industry index systems out there, dotlan unfortunately doesn't seem to record that.
TY
Don't see any industry 5 systems around me, but I do see a nice high kill system

That given map has a system with over 9000 kills on it. I get to the system, it's empty.
Is that map recent?

@Selinate, several macros may ctrl-q the moment you appear in local but before you finish loading grid, playing the waiting game can probably help you catch their names and figure out how to catch them(isn't hard if you think about it). The data is pretty recent though activity does appear to have died down.
Well if activity suddenly dies down for no apparently reason for hours and hours, you know who to thank.
<Yo.

lol, kills have dropped like a rock in that system.
2 carriers doing nothing but sitting in a pos.
No real proof I guess, but it's interesting.

Realistically, you need a blue alt, and a stopwatch to find the macro's.
Machines are machines, they run on timers, no matter what, at the base, a timer is dictating its actions.
First you watch, then you find the cycle with the stop watch, once you see 'someone' who's life is doled out on the exact minutes the same time EVERY TIME, you've got your bot, and its up to you to decide how to catch them.
This looks botty enough to me. I'm just trying to stifle them, and my cloaking trained up to 4 today, so that gives you an idea of my intentions :P

all I wanted this thread to be was to ask where the bots are, so I can harass bots.
Such hate from players, you should turn your hate on the bots and harass them.

Originally by: Elpi Op So basically you want to sit cloaked in 0.0 systems that have a decent military index, argure with pilots in local and call them botters because they kill alot of rats? This is your genius plan for an 'investigation'? A nuetral enters the system, the pilots warp to the POS and you call that a sure sign of botting? Heck I thought that was a form of survival in 0.0. I guess i have alot to learn just to follow your line of thinking. Keep up the good work, im sure you wil end all botting in eve in a week with such a well thought out researched plan.
I wasn't really arguing, nor looking for a decent military index. Some people take this game WAY to seriously
EDIT: You were the ones being rude, by the way.
DOUBLE EDIT: Also, learn to take a joke :P

In additional news: Red Citizens sure do like to say "Go back to WoW" and **** their pants awfully quick at one cloaker frig. Running back to their POS and then hurling insults from inside it? sad....

Clever.
This wasn't really private, though, since I told a few of your corp mates also.
Now it's just your attempts at embarrassing me AND your rather pathetic corp mates hurling insults like "go back to WoW" that are pathetic. 2 for 2 so far.
Best part was that I actually thought that eve-mail was funny, and was worth a shot anyway
EDIT: I still am pretty sure you use bots.

Ok. You win there, big bad eastern European man. What with your puzzle-solving skills and "going to the gym".
You guys sure do get all angry when one neut decides to stay in your space for a while. Even more so when someone says "There be botting afoot in these systems!" in local.
I didn't know this would continue to entertain even after I got bored and left, lol.
Keep it up and I may come visit again, maybe get a fleet to come with :P
