I am trying to download the Singularity test server, but two problems have come up.
1: Because my :C drive only had 1GB of space left, I decided to put Sisi into my :D drive. I thought it would work, because that was the same place I put ALL of the STO files, and that worked fine. However, when I tried to patch, I think it's still trying to patch in the :C drive, and when I tried to patch to the :D drive, it said I ran out of disk space, even though I had easily 75GB in that drive during the download.
2: I also think I downloaded the new build (1200 something MB), and the repair tool, multiple times to the :C drive. Can anyone tell me what the best way to get those things out is? I'm not really that much of a tech expert

the installer/repairtool/download caches in your C drive.. ie uses it as a space to store temporary data. Don't know what you can do about it as I have no idea if Eve reacts on windows settings for this kind of stuff, nor where to set up the temp folder for windows support Public Idea Tracker | 24hr PLEX |

But if there was any temp. data that needed to be downloaded, isn't there a way to set it to all go to the :D drive?

Copy your Tranquility folder to your D: drive and rename it to Singularity so you can differentiate it easily from your TQ folder, then use the Sisi launcher tool from the link bellow.
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1377944
Once you open the tool, click the button that says "Browse" now locate your copied Singularity folder on the D:, then hit the "Click to play Eve on Singularity" button, this should auto patch your client to the latest Sisi build, it might still cache files on your C: though during the install but I'm not 100% certain. You could also run try running disk cleanup on your C: drive to try and clear out any temp files etc, could also be worth trying CCleaner.

Wait, don't I have to copy the whole EVE folder to the :D drive as well?

That's what he said. You take a copy of your working TQ install and copy everything in your EVE TQ folder to a new folder on the d: drive. Rename the folder something other than Eve so you don't get mixed up with the double install later on.
Then run the SisiLauncher and point it to update your copy of EVE Tranquility that's renamed to EVE Sisi or the like. It will update the new copied folder with additional data and you should be good to go.
On another note, it would be a really good idea to clear more space on your c: drive. Move pictures, videos etc to the d: drive. It's always good to leave plenty of room on C: drive so that the operating system won't get bogged down. Use CCleaner (google it) to help you clear up temp files and old backups. |
