Something like that, yes.
I had heard of that project; iirc: it used the same engine that the python fitting tool has and runs that on the server side.
In wTF( working title) once the page itself and the associated item JSON/XML files have loaded; everything is done client side with the help of jQuery.

I think there is space in the EVE Fitting space for two applications that serve different goals, competition has a way of refining a software product.
The jQuery/client-side model has the advantage of being highly responsive. Pyfa/Eos/Auora have the advantage of already having users in the space and a common UI between the web and desktop clients.
I would be interested in seeing your work.

Agreed, competition breeds ingenuity.
HAving done web dev. work for the past few years I know what I DON'T want and that has helped refine what I do want. Plus it will sharpen my jQuery/JSON skills.
If your interested or think you might be able to help in any way (really need someone that can do SQL) send me a EVEmail. I can send you the link for the pre-alpha.

What type of SQL help are you needing? I have a fair amount of SQL backed web app development experience and wouldn't mind helping out some.

Zcary
In need of someone who can take the CCP static data dump, import it into a MsSQL server (already avalaible), create a stored procedure that will exclude everything BUT ships, fittings, ammo, hardwires then export the selected groups as a XML file per type of item. i.e.: large_hybrid_ammo.xml, caldari_frigates.xml, slot_9_hardwires.xml, etc.
Once I have the xml files I'll be able to port them to JSON (native format for the tool) and run with it from that point.
