I'm fond of Eve because it's designed around adults (no chat filters or real behavior inhibitors, skill progression doesn't give the advantage to the unemployed, etc) rather than children, and strikes a good balance between player control of social interactions and game economy and a playable game. ---

This. In EVE I can build Ravens, in a cave, with a box of scraps. In real life I am not Tony Stark. By the way, real men biomass when they emoragequit.

I love Eve because nearly every single thing I have earned and built in the game can be lost or destroyed.

I love Eve because there is depth in the game. There can be more than hundreds ways to play the game.
One ship can have many configurations and customisations and there are plenty ships to customise. It is just awesome! --------- Sent from my BlackBerry. |

There is a dark charm to this game. EvE promises you nothing, but will take from you everything.
Few design studios use this model of game design, its bloody frustrating at times, but the reward is always the sweeter for it. ________________________________________

Originally by: Anubis Xian I actually hate Eve. I hate that it is the best sci fi mmorpg, the closest mmorpg to what I wish all mmorpgs were like, and that the only better games are all single player.
Because Eve sucks, it really does, it just has no real competition.
The last time i checked, it's not so difficult to start your business. Get a group of guys together and start programming. When you get as good as this, then you can talk and i'll listen carefully.

GRINDING ISK
No, it isn't.
It is about killing pirates well in missions and not in missions. Domination when you take control of some 0.0 areas. Making things to sell others.
Most importantly, it is all about making your own fun in Eve. The game is just like chess. You can do whatever you want on a chess board and make your own fun. --------- Sent from my BlackBerry. |

Some more from what I have learnt in-game and in-forums, Eve teaches some real life skills:
team-work
budgeting
resource management
back-stabbing
achievement of personal goals are more important than collective goals
personal gains at the expense of others are acceptable --------- Sent from my BlackBerry. |

I just had a flip through last night at the backstory section and I was very impressed at the many resources that you get for free with an Eve Online membership.
So, another reason to love Eve. Free and good sci-fi novels. I wished I had discovered Eve sooner.
Keep up the good work, folks at CCP.

The amount of science in the game is awesome. The reality level is high, it doesn't make a lot of sacrifices to make things work.
Yeah, you gotta have FTL travel. You gotta have mini nuclear reactors. But beyond that you have heat dampeners on computers, max load levels on links between planetary installations, variable power cost depending on properties of the lasers/whatever, your guns actually physically exist on your ship in the right places, distances are life size making huge starbases tiny dots.

Another one that I thought of today. Eve is a very relaxing game. When you play the game, the music just mesmerises you completely with the nice black void of space.
It is so the****utic to see space is so big, empty and you can really relax playing the game. --------- Sent from my BlackBerry. |

I love eve because of the social interaction, I don;t normally think about it but can often just spend hours chattingw ithout doing anything, I do love it for the pvp but not done anythinga ctive for a while. I do play other games espially the last 2 years but been back playing this solidly for 2 months now more than ever I never once unsubscribed and doubt I ever will unless my finances dictate I have no choice.
I like eve for all the new stuff it brings as well, I may not use it all or even like it all but overall it makes the game better even if I personally don't use it it opens up a new niche for more players to have fun in eve, the game has come along way over the years and while peopel may have complaints about lag ect what so you expect ccp todo they work there balls off to fix lag only for once they almost there fights get bggir, systems get more jammed its hard for them to keep ahead of players.
I also look forward tot he future of eve although this is probably one of the things that caused me to stop playing less as the waitingf or wlaking in stations was driving me insane and its still not out and even when it is I won;t be able to run my own bar seemingly. it looekd so good at fan fest 2009 too
