Given I have limited time and knowledge of programing, I'm going to wait a day or two before logging, downloading the patch, and redrawing my face.
Speaking of that, how much time is permitted to redraw the avatar? Can it be saved as a work in process, or, do I need to devote a weekend off from work to draw it up...sculpt, is the word they used in development phase. Sculpting takes time.
Maybe I will wait until I have at least 24 hours off from work to redraw my avatar.

Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe locatad in the EVE game directory or re-install the game client.

Hum, no such problem here after closing client. Have you recently (yesterday or today) updated your gfx driver?
Its not your laptop screen dimming. I have been having the same issue. I have found that it can be fixed by opening the eve client and closing it again. For some reason that clears the dark screen.
Yes I mentioned this in my original post.... I either reboot OR am required to open the client again.... neither is a good option if I happen to have logged on while at office and need to disconnect quickly
open something wich requires administrator mode or something like this..
for me, task-manager solves the problem |

If you'd been around back in 2003 you'd see just how horribly wrong that statement really is. Yes, the graphics engine from Trinity was a bug-fix. Planetary interaction, wormholes, capital ships, tech 2 and tech 3, invention, contracts, explorations, epic mission arcs, rigs, boosters, factional warfare... It's all just bugfixes, no new content here.

Well, it looks quite cool, I just find the idea of a huge crowd going off to a projection, well, weird. Not exactly my taste in music either, I prefer live music, or live singers. They're very hot though, in an anime way. Just a bizarre thing, very, very weird.

ok i have just downloaded and installed patch went great however im getting on the top lefthand side of the login screen large letters saying PHYSX > CPU i have a new comp ie: core i7 960 with a gtx 580 plz dont tell me my card and cpu arnt compatible or am i just over reacting and its just there untill i log in please is any 1 getting this allso o_0 |

Mac patch does not work on my MAC- same issue as test server - get a warning files have been modified and installer quits half way through.
Documented better on test server feedback page.

Well, for someone with decent skills, it's easy to play for free. I make enough isk to plex up 3 of my 5 accounts. So for $30 / month, I run 5 separate accounts and about 12 toons. How many other subscription-based games have that option? |

*SIGH* This is why I don't work in QA anymore. Always the same crap. Devs & production think QA are thier lap dogs and only feed them "scraps" of code paired with a small, bleek test environment that can't represent the live environment and Voila! You get delays, while people frantically scurry around trying to fix the problems created by bad communication. I do enjoy the game though... also the count down timer would be a great idea. |

Patch downloaded with the client patcher, client upgraded with no problems.
Location Europe
Download speed started (average) from 290 Kb/s to 657 Kb/s and took me around 45 mins to complete, (rather than normal for my dsl subscription).
5 years old laptop with low end graphic card.

Auto patch downloaded fine at just over 6MB (MegaBytes) per sec, so that looks sorted - took longer to install than download!
