Ok, just spent some time getting my two characters new looks.
Firstly I thought the UI was *generally* easy to use with a couple of exceptions. (Too late for me but perhaps new players in the future might benefit).
I have a lower spec graphics card. At high quality settings the frame rate was so low as to make the majority of changes impossible. I took to doing the majority of changes in "performance" graphics mode and then fine detail in "quality" mode. - Frustrating and time consuming.
The context based pointer tools, (body/face sculpting, head posing, zoom and rotation), didn't always work the way I expected. Sometimes they didn't show up at all. (Particularly in "quality" mode where frame rates where low). I had to toggle between the "customisation" screen and the "snapshot" screen to get them to work again. - I suggest a toolbar where you can select the tool (as well as the context based pointing method).
The help was a bit brief on how to use the new UI. I spent about 1-2 hours just getting familiar with the UI before committing anything. (I thought this was too long).
I liked the ability to bypass the character creation process if you wanted to do a couple of quick things in game.
The choices of hair and clothes I thought was limited. I particularly had my heart set on long shoulder length hair for my male Caldari character but this was no an option. . Oh and by the way, What happened to the Caldari face tattoos? - gone!
Is there going to be a method to change your look (hair cut, tatt's clothes), later on?
I think it will help those of us with low spec graphics that even though we edit in low res mode, that the snap shots are rendered in hi-res mode and you get to see all sizes of pictures used in game so we can see exactly what we will look like and our local cache will have the real image.
I have a situation with one character. I took the snap shot in low res mode *MY* cached copy is the low res version (even in game), but everyone else gets to see the high res version. (I actually still don't know how to get the hi-res copy in game).
When sculpting the body I would also like to see some popup interface, so that I know what will happen when I move the mouse up-down, left-right. - Also I'd like an UNDO button. the number of times I tried something with sculpting and expressions, and then wanted to undo the change...and yet.
That's about all for my feedback.
I appreciate the size of the changes you've made and how difficult they are. And yet I'm asking for more changes...
Sorry for the long post.
