On top of the standard character creator complaints the lack of content means no matter how much polish you think it has, the results will look bland, boring, uninspiring. I really hope that's the review the gaming magazines and sites give it. The posing system shows no real understanding of human physiology. The lighting system is even worse than the old creator which had more granularity and options for colored lighting. Some decent content would have gotten this a B+. Actual Grade: D
The new default shortcuts suck. You shouldn't have changed the defaults, there was no reason to, and about half of them will get people killed. Also the shortcuts assigned to a key+click are implemented very poorly. Alt-tab and you'll be returned with alt-look at on random unimportant ships. Ctrl-click feels delayed laggy, if it even works at all. should have put more thought into it. Players will lose ships and you will lose more customers than you will gain. Grade: F
Right-click menus in drones are inconsistent (amateurish.) Right-click on a drone and 'launch drones' is on the bottom (where it always has been and is fine) but right-click on a drone group and it's been moved to the top. Pointless change, inconvenient, inconsistent, does not increase usability for new or old players, one more hassle in a pile of hassles you dump on us when you think you're "improving" the UI. Grade: D-
Stealth buff to salvage thieves by allowing MWD in all deadspaces. I understand the desire to bring PVE ships more in line with PVP ships and that this is an important step in that process. However it went in at the wrong time completely, and the only real benefit is to salvage thieves. Mission boats will not be more interesting or fun because by using a MWD they will be targeted by salvage thieves more often meaning more salvage lost, while salvage thieves will be able to steal more than they could before. One less reason to log in, one less reason to undock, one less reason to keep subscriptions active. Grade: D-
Auto-load portraits in chat is kinda controversial... Some people like it. Some are annoyed by it. I hate it. It's adding unnecessary bandwidth and client rendering. To me, and to most people who care, what's more important is what you might consider 'unanticipated use.' In busy highsec areas people want a way of 'remembering' people they talk to but don't want to set diplomatic relationships (standings) or searching through contacts. We would load portraits of people who are interesting. A sort of RP way of 'remembering faces.' Now any douchebag spammer in Jita, or strangers in fleet fights gets their crappy portrait downloaded to my machine. Add a setting in the escape menu. Give us the option. Grade: D
Not big bugs, not really, but a sure sign that CCP develops for their egos, not for their customers. It's a shame that the CSM has to keep reminding you that we actually matter. A company that does not value it's customers does not deserve to succeed. Another disappointing expansion. Can't believe I actually resubbed for this.
