Alrighty, so I've finally decided that I would like to give PI a shot, because after doing a little bit of research on the basics of it, it sounds pretty fun, and would be a wonderful addition to my daily list of EVE activities. (I used to run harvesters back in the day on SWG Pre-CU. So this PI seems very similar.)
Here is my question:
About how much ISK per hour/day would I make doing PI on one character/account out in WH Space, or Low-Sec space somewhat CASUALLY i.e. playing about 5-6 hours a day?
I don't intend to make over 1 Billion a month. My goal is to make at least 100-150+mil a month. I would like some semi passive income while I make ISK running missions, and other various activities, as my goal in EVE as of late is to earn 1 Plex a month with ease. Any advice would be most greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Edited by: Velicitia on 19/01/2011 14:20:44 as with anything, you've got to do your research. (also skills to 4 is a good idea) running in W-space will let you extract a fair bit of material.
Seems with the changes the best way to set up planets now is extraction, P0 - P1 (maybe P2) , and then P2-P3 -- that is, to maximize production/profit you have available by specializing the planets. Granted if you don't particularly care about maximizing everything (just want to make the stuff), you can sometimes cram a P0 -> P1 factory (or four) into the same planet as the extractors, your yields will just be lower than they would be otherwise.

Edited by: Eddie Stylez on 19/01/2011 17:53:11 I have done lot's of research about PI, the vast majority of info explains how to do it, but I am finding hardly nothing relating to my initial question.
Simply if it can make at least 100-150+mil a month doing PI on ONE character. I do not want to spend time training the PI skills if this goal is not even going to be achievable.
And what's the harm in someone just telling me if this is possible or not? It would nice, and would save me tons of time. I'm hoping the PI players are not as shady and selfish as Traders are... I'm not wanting to know how to make the MOST profit doing PI, I just want to know if what I ask can be easily accomplished on one character; instead of 3 or even 6 characters like most PI players use.

Edited by: Primeara Ho on 19/01/2011 18:16:33 im also a total newby to pi but i tried it myself today and came to following result: 1 Planet yields about a mil/day with P1 prices around 300 and in high sec * 6 planets * 30 Days = Profits
edit and i am a trader btw

might be. you have to run the numbers though as profits change by region/constellation/system (or whatever range you want to look at).
People will not likely straight up tell you because you'll cut into their profits (not to mention *everyone else* who reads the forums).
However, just for argument's sake, let's say you're making some P2 item and it sells for 7.5k isk/unit. it'll take you 13334 units to hit 100m isk.
P2 items are built at a rate of 5/hour per factory (burning 40 units of TWO separate P1 products). For one factory, it'll take you 2667 hours to make that. that's 111 days (just under 4 months). To get that BELOW the 30d limit you've imposed, you've got to have minimally four factories cranking at capacity to hit your goal (it'll end up taking you just under a month that way, you'll want to run as many as you can).
To keep four P2 factories running, you need minimally 8 basic factories (1 basic cycles in 30 min, producing half of what an advanced will consume, each advanced factory requires two separate reactants), though you will probably want more.
each basic factory requires 3000 units of the P0 reactant (from extractors) every 30 mins to run at capacity.
Now, this DOES NOT mean you have to be watching the extractors/factories/whatever 23/7, but that you have to at least have enough materials stockpiled to let everything run for say 20-30 hours while you're not playing.
as with anything YMMV.

Yes, you can easily make 100M a month with PI. Though I can't tell what the numbers are going to be for me with the new system, they're a little lower I think, I was making around 500-600M a month with my P2 production setup in the old system.

in a wormhole 300m-500m per char is easily achievable. with 4/4/4/4 skills. depending on the amount of hauling you want to do + or - 20% from that. That relies on logging in once per day to reset extractors and stuff - about 2-4 mins per planet. so with 5 planets that makes 20 mins per day - 10 hours per month. So it is okay ISK per hour... but not brilliant. Also need to take into account hauling time and costs.
