Has CCP already emailed out this extended offer to all intended recipients? I never reactivated my alts during the previous "5 free days and $9.95 a month for two months" offer because the full Incursion expansion didn't hit, but I'd like to take them up on it now. How would I go about getting those accounts flagged for this new offer extension?
Towards the bottom of the first page on Massively.com, http://massively.joystiq.com/ it says:
Several months ago, CCP mailed out a five-day free reactivation offer to thousands of expired accounts. These players were also offered the special deal on game time with the intention of letting them experience the Incursion expansion. Since the expansion's release schedule had been pushed back, many of the players who took up this offer with the intent of trying out Incursion would not have been able to take part.
To ensure those affected could take part in the Sansha live events and the invasions that will follow, CCP has extended over 5,000 of these promotional accounts until 31st January, free of charge. When contacted for question, a CCP representative gave the following statement: "This is a one-time thing. It seemed really unfair to me we'd sell that content in an offer then move part of it within a week like that, thus not honoring what we sold someone on. The goal is to actually honor the offer we made, in writing, to these people."

It reads to me as if they extended the offer to those that took them up on the offer, because CCP did not meet the deadline.

I got about 15 free days from it.
Thanks CCP, I would have resubscribed anyways most likely, but I was a bit miffed, that:
a) the 5 original free days I got did not include anything from Incursion due to delays, and
b) I would have missed the actual Incursions on the 25th because my promo time would have been done.
I applaud CCP for this move, and was very happy to read the email a few days ago. Sarcasm - Because i'm too far away to strangle you. |

Good decision tbh, smart.
It would just perhaps be an idea to be a little more clear on which offer was extended exactly... I'm alive, my alt used a 5 day offer recently for Incursions but well, timed out before those arrive but is still disabled. Another one however got extended. Confused.

I got the extra game time from this and was really surprised. It's little things like this (and the upcoming character re-customization) that shows the value some companies place in their customers.
While I'm sure plenty will try to point out that if they didn't "screw" up in the first place they wouldn't have to do this, but I'm not so critical as we all make mistakes and they didnt have to offer anything in the end. Most companies today don't offer compensation like this.
I'm looking forward to Incarna. |

This was a one-time thing given to only people who used the 5-day reactivation and THEN took the discount on 60 days of game time that came with it. That discounted game time was sold to players as getting into the Incursion expansion, but shortly after the expansion was split into three parts and the major aspects delayed until 18th Jan. To ensure those players could take part in Incursions, as that's how the deal was sold to them, CCP extended those accounts until Jan 31st as a one-time courtesy.
The people who qualify for the extension have already been informed via email, it won't be applied to any further accounts. If you weren't part of the group of people who bought that deal and whose accounts were due to expire before the end of the month, you won't have gotten the extension. And to be fair, you shouldn't really expect it. CCP just did it as a good faith measure to make sure they lived up to the terms of the reactivation discount deal they'd sold to a lot of returning players.
