this comment was made bye a very well known eve player: I'm forced to note that only ONE fellow even scratched why you can't say eve makes this look piddly. 60k people all logged onto eve, spread over something like 100 systems in the galaxy. Each system is run by it's OWN server machine. You can only contact and interact with people in your own system, or who you have friended. Having played for awhile myself, and my roommate who plays constantly, it's rare to see 30 people in a single system, actually MOVING, at the same time. That number goes up once you get to certain systems, I'm aware, and when the wars happen, a lot of people turn up in one place. They also lag hideously. So, the fact that 60k people were in eve, not chatting, and often not doing anything, compared to 70k+ on WoT, still in beta, also not chatting (though we can), and often not doing anything... Well, sounds to me like WoT did just fine for itself, and deserves the record. So as you can see, 74,000 is a big number and something worth being proud about. Here is to hoping that WoT grows and changes as time goes by so that in 7 years they are still setting records. CCP get your edge back i don't think incursion going to do it (cough)fail

Anyway, I am not concerned at all with whether anybody is, today, paying for past, present, or future expansions. My only point throughout the whole crapthread has been, nothing is free, not this expansion, not the next one, not the previous one, none of them, every single one is paid for, in full. The people arguing with me do so under their own strange preconceptions about who said what, when, and whether they understand what free even means.

NEW FORUMS(sorta) - Sorta indeed. Where are they?? Oh yea, not available yet! And that after years in the making and still lacking features I'd expect from modern forum software (by modern I mean produced in this century).
Incursions!! - Raids in EVE. I don't care about shooting NPCs. That's scripted, unoriginal, predictable content. Farming. Grinding. That's not what's important in this game. And besides, this isn't original - we already have sleepers ai and gang interface.
PI improvements! (not a bug fix) - Touted by CCP as an "iteration". I guess we now know what to expect of other IterationsÖ. Why was PI expansion called Tyrannis? Who knows, who cares.
Eve gate voice (1st step to voice communication that does not crash when eve does) - In beta, so not part of this 'expansion'. Haven't tried this, jury still out.
God rays,booster clipping, or simply, Depth of field effects! - I love eye candy, but this is wrong. If this effect needed to be in game it should have been used for environments where it made sense: gas/dust clouds, asteroid belts, whatever. Current implementation is to raise the level of PvE drama and is a mistake. In any case, listing one (1) effect as a proud expansion feature is rich indeed!
Learning skill removal! - Debatable business decision, nothing to do with this 'expansion'. Reaction to player meltdown and groundwork for anticipated new client influx due to Incarna.
Meta levels have icons now! yay! Rocket boost! Market overhaul - All useful stuff, but should be down to the noise when listing expansion-worthy features.
KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS! - Beta. Good start but very buggy, brakes important stuff. Needs a lot more work.
TWO MONITOR SUPPORT! woohoo! - Nice, about time.
anti-aliasing - I've had this all along, 2003 - present. Shame on CCP for leaving this out since Trinity upgrade. Still, nice not to have to depend on third-party software.
Noctis - Nice, expansion-worthy feature. If there was an expansion that came with this.
I think this 'expansion' has some fantastic and much anticipated content, but going all fanboy-**** over it as you or others are doing is ******ed.

EDIT: You should not presume to use words like logic when you have taken off at a tangent. I haven't said anything about burgers, or whether your burger was free or not. How could I possibly know if you got a free burger? This has nothing to do with logic.

Please allow me to use this as a point of comparison,
Blizard releases WOW 4.0 that introduces some new stuff and put features in place for the full up expansion
they then release WOW 4.01 4.02 that add in more feature then they finaly release Cataclysm 4.03 a week or so later that actualy puts in the new races and zones and unlocks the new levels and content
with this expansion we get the expansion installed and out of the way, then a week or so later they flip the switch and the rest of the expansion" turns on"
basicaly. . . EvE developers have been fairly blunt that they are apeing a lot of how Blizard does things, First they adapted there GTC practices, now they are trying to figure out how to sell you "Vanity" items (aka pets mounts and so on)
honestly I surprised that they havent come out with a colectable tradeing card game that features randomly inserted ingame items. honesly I half expect to log in one day and see people undocking with some weirdass spacemonster taging along after them!
by the way any word on pets for our Incarna avatars yet, I know some of us are pet collectors in other games

Just because it doesn't speak to you or give you something new to do or use doesn't mean it's not an expansion. Incursions differ significantly from Sleepers in terms of what kind of gameplay they add.

Sometimes I wonder if just paying for an expansion will get CCP enough money to release more complete things sooner and if that wouldn't be preferable.

Eve is not free and you cant compare these expansions to those of wow.
The only new content that came out here is the Noctis. Everything else you can call patched.And looking at the time its been since real new content has been introduced I would say its well payed.
Nothing is free..even death costs you your life.
You cant tell me all these people are working on this stuff for years and that for free.Its either well payed like I said or done with the intentions of getting new subs.Period.But nothings free.
And I repeat myself when I say I'm not complaining because I like what they made I think Its cool.But this "its free" stuff is bs.

They did put the price of expansions and all other services up once... it didn't seem to have any direct correlation with quality, but Dust development started soon after, I'm sure there is no link with that.

trust me they make money ......they are working on Dust 514 (console game).......World Of Darkness ......this is done of the back's of eve online player base.....i would pay for expansion just to make them better.......been playing for 5 years......and i have watched CCP grow from are money and testing.....but there PR is the worse i have ever seen....and there expansion ........are all leading up to Incarna. but sadly incurion got fail coded in.....

Great! Less competition for the isk rewards and named capital mods obtained with the concord lp so I can sell them for more due to limited supply. \o/

I'm OK with that too, just don't call it something that it isn't, it's really Tyrannus 1.5 (or Incarna 0.5) not a totally new expansion. It's sort of like ****ing on my leg and telling me it's raining.

but business wise, ... you;d be wrong! IT"S FREE.
Giving CCP money, gives them FUNDING. Anything you pay to CCP is for something they ALREADY MADE. you are not paying for anything they are currently making. you might be funding, but in no way are you earning anything that company is making with your money. Get over it.

I don't know what MMO's you are playing, but all the ones I play cost $14.95 a month, same as EVE.
