Good bye, New Eden. I am now unable to play EVE Online account the new Incursion 1.1.1.0 (essentially, a New Game under an old name) is unsupported by my machine. I wish I had forewarning before my initial subscription, that this was going to happen. If I had known, I wouldn't have spent the money knowing I would be banned for poor Real World finances in the first quarter of 2011 (no funds to upgrade the current PC: dang Bush administration!). Since Haansu had developed only 4 months, I never enjoyed him to his fullest extent; I never learned what 0.0 was like; I never learned PvP. All the hype and excitement I read about in all your blogs will forever remain a fantasy.
It was like marriage: all foreplay and no climax.
Well, back to playing Solitaire.

There is only one main thing that can stop you from playing at the moment and that is the SSE2 issue however if you still have a computer that doesn't at least use a Pentium 4 processor, then I believe good sir that your operating system of Windows 3.1 is not supported.
You can skip the character creator for now which is buggy as fudge on even high end gaming machines because CCP QA's department needs to spend more time trying to break stuff rather then making sure buttons work. Otherwise turning down the new graphic settings like depth effects should make it playable.

he'll be back... He's just gonna have a little lie down and a cry. Someone will feel sorry for him, and find him a computer from 2003 instead.

My old computer from 2003 wouldn't have played it. And I had it until 2009, and even used it for EVE. I panicked for a second when I read "AMD ATHLON XP" isn't supported. Had to try and remember what I'm using now. :P

I'm sorry for your current financial state.
Government can never save you nor can it rescue you as the elites who are involved could care less no matter what faction they tout.
That being said you come off as having the dreaded "bush derangement syndrome". Your tears are but a metaphore for your lack of any sense or reason as you blame others for your emo quit.
Look on the bright side Haansu, we are rid of you and your pc hardware should be able to run solitaire.....

Depends on whether you live in a civilized nation which values human life, or not.
A friend of mine is on government welfare, and he could afford to, after saving for a while, to buy a new, decent computer that could play games and which he could use for job searching.
I feel it's a worthy use of my tax money to bring someone else joy and opportunities, because here we don't have the "**** you, got mine" mentality.

um rid, he cant even log in to the game.
now put yourself in his shoes, literaly 48 hours warning or less that his computer will not be able to play the game.
I suspect a lot of them will be back but in the meantime the reality remains that one way or annother the developers droped the ball on this one.

OP unless you are living paycheck to paycheck, or still live with Mom & Dad unemployed. You could simply upgrade your computer to use a dual core CPU. Shop for parts on newegg.com
You could easily upgrade your machine to play this game paying under 100 bucks.

Why should I work for you? I don't exist to make you happy - I am not your slave. If the sweat of my brow is to be confiscated for your pleasure, I'll just stop working myself. - - -

Seems like a pretty good reason not to give you an advance warning. Goodbye. --

I'm sorry you cannot upgrade. I had to upgrade the last time.
However they did give us warnings there has been a sticky in information for several months about the change and though unstickied now its still there.
As others suggest you might can get parts at newegg.com to upgrade your machine. Its not always as hard as folks think but you can probably get help from a more technical friend if you ask.
Thoughts expressed are mine and mine alone. They do not necessarily reflect my alliances thoughts.

Also look for used Athlon 64s with motherboards, should be able to score a second hand one cheaply.

I ask you: is a man not entitled to the sweat of his ho's? No, says the man in Washington. That ****'s illegal. No says the man in the Vatican. That ****'s immoral. No, says the man in Moscow. That **** belongs to everyone. I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rap'cha. A city where the artist would not fear the po'po. Where the gangsta would not be bound by petty legality. Where the great would not be constrained by logic. And with the sweat of your ho's, Rap'cha can become your city as well.

Yes, paycheck by paycheck with house payments, credit card debt, yada yada. I followed EVE on the various players' blogs and E-UNI website for about a year before opting to pay for a subscription, and then only after the car was paid off.

You can get something like this: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=MS-7037-CELD24-PB-R&cat=MBB and use all other parts from your PIII. I double checked, this Celeron D 320 support SSE2, and even SSE3. You can probably have it delivered to your door for 40 or so dollars.
