Apocalypse is a great lvl 4 mission ship. In order for it to be effective and shine there a few skills and modules that u should have:
1. Be able to use t2 light drones and have at least lvl 3 advanced drone interfacing 2. T2 armor hardners 3. t2 large armor rep 4.t2 heatsinks 5.amarr bs lvl 3 6. large energy turret lvl 3 7. t2 cap rechargers
This fit will do most lvl 4 missions easily. Make sure that u look at missions ahead of time at evesurvival.org. Watch out for guristas and angel missions. Those one will be the hardest due the rats high resists to ur em and thermal damage. Make usre u can use the drones so that u can kill the scrambling frigs fast.
[Apocalypse, orca]
8x Mega Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I (Multifrequency L)
100MN Afterburner I 3x Cap Recharger II
Large Armor Repairer II 2x Armor EM Hardener II 2x Armor Thermic Hardener II 2x Heat Sink II
2x Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Auxiliary Nano Pump I
5x Hobgoblin II 5x Hammerhead II

Originally by: Kartzi Hello everyone,
I'm currently flying a Harbinger, doing level 3 missions with ease. I am considering moving to a battleship, specifically - an Apocalypse.
I have about 3 million SP and can use some T2 modules such as capacitor recharges & damage controls.
Would you recommend getting an Apocalypse at this point or waiting a bit longer?
Thanks!
You've got a long, LONG way to go before you're fit to be in a battleship. Stick with battlecruisers or cruisers for now. Wait until you can use T2 guns and have BS 4 to actually get into an apocalypse. They're awful otherwise. You'd effectively be wasting 150m isk to buy it, rig it and have horrid fitting skills and horrid support skills. You won't be in battleship shape until you're closer to 8m SP at the earliest.
Suggestion to train for so you can stick it in an EVEMon plan: T2 Mega Beams (And pulse lasers if you want them) T2 Cap Rechargers T2 Sensor Booster T2 Large Armor Repairer T2 Heat Sink T2 Damage Control Capacitor Control Circuit I
T2 Medium and Light drones.
When you can use all of those and have battleship 4 or higher, you'll be in more or less splendid shape to fly it. 3m SP is nowhere near battleship capable and having it be effective. "The point of war is not to die for your country, its to make the other bastard die for his." |

Well, I checked exactly what I can use right now:
T2 Mega Beams (And pulse lasers if you want them) - Not yet close to T2 weapons T2 Cap Rechargers - Got it. T2 Sensor Booster I'm 1 skill level away from it. T2 Large Armor Repairer Got it. T2 Heat Sink - Will have it in a day from now. T2 Damage Control - Got it. Capacitor Control Circuit I - Got it.
T2 Medium and Light drones. - Somewhat close to it.

Splendid. Keep your eye on T2 guns. There are going to be a lot of people in EVE that say 'but meta 4 is just as good!' and you'll be able to know that you're proving them wrong every time you fire a T2 gun. Not only do the T2 guns have sole claim to T2 ammo, they have the Weapon Specialist skill giving them an additional 2% bonus to damage per level. You get that to four, or hell, even three, you're easily outdamaging any similar fit with any meta 4 gun.
Yes, I know they take a long time to train for. When I trained Izuru up to use T2 large guns for the first time, I whined and hawed at the training time, but when I got them, I found that the time was so well spent that it was worth every single second of training time.
It really is worth using T2 guns over tech one in every situation.

Originally by: Dark Pangolin You may not want to hear this but i suggest training for a Raven (which will be relatively pain free) and using that in lieu of an Apoc. An Apoc can work but the raven really makes the lvl4 missions easy...you can choose damage, you have excellent range with cruise missiles...etc etc...
Missiles are not anywhere near as much fun as gargantuan energy beams. |

Frankly I've screamed down one carebear caldari elitist after another about that, but ravens are far less effective than most people pretend they are. Doesn't seem to matter to them though, but still.
