Hows This Fun

I'll start with where I'm at now. I'm in a carrier, I can make 300m in like 2 hours ratting at the least while not paying attention. The problem with that is it could cause a lossmail. Which would be bad for the corp/alliance so I have to worry about that and its not fun even though I could afford a new one easily.
So I have ISK: Check I have a cap: Check
I've also tried PVP but I couldn't enjoy it because it was always about killmails for everyone and the stress lossmails could cause. An example a FC got a fleet wiped out the other day and is depressed about it and won't take another one out because of lossmails.
I dont like thinking about or obsessing over killboards which is 99.99999999% of what you do in EVE pvp. Which is no fun.
PVP: Check, no more of that
Now I can't even rat and become richer ratting because people are obsessed with lossmails even though I'm not. So PVE outside of Empire is consummed with killboards to.
And even if I somehow made a trillion ISK... who cares. What could I do with it? Can't earn interest on it... it's just there. Can't use it to PVP as I don't even want to pve because its not fun constantly having to worrk about corp/alliance killboards even though I've never been on them.
What is the point of this game? I mean cool we got new character portraits. MMk we got incursions so thats going to be more of what, farming?
What is there to do? Sure you can point to stupid things because your stupid like ninja salvaging (why would I do that) pirating (hello a group of people completely consumed with killboards) What is there to do with ISK?
Pointless, end game in EVE is moving to 0.0 and one way or another becoming a slave to the owners of Battleclinic and other killboards.
CCP should put links to killboards in the tutorial, and say just so you know, these are pretty much the point of everything you do in a ship even if you don't PVP these will be extremely important as if you lose a ship it will go on your permanent record. And the only way to fix a loss is to become a killmail ***** and start becoming obsessed with your own killboard and then share a communal killboard with others who are also obsessed with theirs.
What is the point... beisdes these killboards? Spacebook? Or are we supposed to use both ? rrrrr no thanks to either this game sucks.

The point is, if you don't like killboards and you don't like staying in a station on the market or solo play. Tough, that's what eve is, space killboards.

The best way to have fun in EVE is to get a group of people you enjoy talking to and hanging around with, then do things together!
It does not matter what you do, be it PVP PVE or just chatting in fleet as you mine a belt.
The point is that no matter what you loose in this game you can get it back and as long as you have fun loosing it, it was Isk well spent.

No mean to sound harsh, but if you do not find the game rewarding, you have better things to do. The answer is to suspend your account and move on.
Or you could try to take the path less travelled? Why not join an NRDS community and fight for a cause? Join anti-piracy efforts? There are lots of options.

I manage to have lots of fun, and I've never had more than a couple hundred million isk at a time. If killboards and people who care so much about killboards are preventing you from enjoying yourself, maybe go play with a different group of people.

Uhhhhhh.....change corps? That seems like it'd work!
However, you're not actually looking for answers to your questions anyway; you're just looking for somewhere to ***** and moan, so that's cool too...

PvP area is too vast to be dismissed by a single bad example
Try again, with different people. Small scale PvP is best, since that's where you can feel like you are really contributing and not just another drone who has no right to think for himself other than what FC tells you

Sounds like good advice, but not sure it will be as easy as that for her. A new corp/alliance might be too suspicious of her. Capsuleers tend to be a paranoid lot.

Yep, they would think I would cyno in a carrier group and blow up their carriers and that would look terrible on their killboards. Can't do that

You could always do that to your current alliance, bet that would be fun . If you spoke to some other alliances/corps ahead of time, and are honest about why you want out of your current outfit, they might be more trusting. Dialog does wonderful things.

Change corps. If all they worry about is killmails its fail because you will die in pvp.
I'd say make an alt but it sucks to have a character that old and have to use an alt to compete in pvp. I would change the corp/alliance.

I think you are missing a giant difference between stupid, unacceptable lossmails, and acceptable lossmails.
Losing a ratting carrier is an absolutely unacceptable lossmail. They happen all the time and always make the owner look ver poorly in the eyes of their corp, alliance and all of Eve for that matter.
Losing a ship fit for pvp, no matter how expensive the ship is, is always an acceptable loss.
The fact that your corp/alliance FC had a fleet wiped out is no cause for depression. **** happens everyday in Eve. What matters is he had the balls to actually engage.
Losing is a part of Eve. No one wins all the time in Eve, not even WI(dot). Sarcasm - Because i'm too far away to strangle you. |

QFT.
There are plenty of corps out there of all different types (pirate, PvP, PvE) who could care less about the stats as long as it's fun, you can replace your ships, and you don't whine when you pop. -------------
