Hi! How's it going?
I'm running on an older computer, which I know will not handle Incarna when it comes out. I had enough performance troubles with the character creator with this one to know.
Someone is building me a new computer from scratch and told me he will put in a GTX285 Nvidea card, which he called, "a really good graphics card". Now, is that video card going to be enough for Incarna when it comes out, or should I ask him to get a better one? I'm also thinking down the road as computer games get more demanding graphics-wise over time.

My 270 runs fine with character creator, maybe you got issues from other hardware.
Or maybe you need to turn down the 16x AA.

Hi TimMc
I'm running a GeForce 8600 which is about 3 years old (I think). The AA setting on my client is at it's lowest setting. Even the resolution was adjusted to give me more FPS.
Soemone recommended in helpchat I go to pcpitstop web site to run a diagnostic on the computer to speed it up.
Thanks!

GTX 285 is a very powerful card. its only 1 generation behind. It will run games for a long time. There is nothing it cant run right now. ----

I have a GTX 285, has served me well for a while now and runs the character creator on high with 16x AA at a fairly high FPS. Incarna should be no problem.

Ah sorry misread. Yeah 285 is very nice card. You should compare it to mid range cards of latest generation though, as they may be similar priced.

Do you have shaders set to high by any chance? I'm running the same card as you and generally have a problem with shaders in particular, It was the same for the new CC, Changing shaders to low removed the stuttering problems i had completely. |

First of all, nice portrait!
Yeah, I see what you mean. Changed the shader and now sequences like warp drive are not so choppy.
