I maintain forums, ts and other services for a large number of users, approx 4000 api keys in the database. I use ale php cache to unsure I don't abuse the api, and automatically abide by cache timers.
Recently my scripting has been doing weird things because of this error message coming back intermittently from the api:
'General Error: Scotty the docking manager heard you were talking **** about him behind his back and refuses to service your request.'
I am now checking for this and have worked around, but I wanted to bring it to peoples attention, and further I'm interested as to whether this is caused by something I am doing.
Apologies if this issue already has a thread but I could not find anything.

Edited by: pietplaat on 23/01/2011 18:18:57 Same here, EFT and pyfa wont get data of my main char. My alt, that is under same api key, gets its data as normal.
EDIT: Did renew API key, same results. |

@ CCP
Did you guys change the xml layout/format of the Character Sheet? My application is failing on just the character sheet. It's worked well without any significant changes for months now and all of a sudden here comes Incursion and *boom* it fails.
Source code control and change management. Highly worthwhile imo.

Bump for problems with Scotty, timing alone suggests it has something to do with incursion patch. I get exactly the same message as mentioned before.
Inability to access data through API is... well... annoying :/ I hope it gets fixed soon |

I'm a newb and all this API talk is a bit over my head atm but this is the closest topic I could find in regards to the issue I have noticed in game regarding the "Set Destination" command (for autopilot): Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Only noticed it started happening after Tuesday's patch.

Edited by: Caeles Dominium on 27/01/2011 00:57:59 Still getting the Scotty message when trying to update my main's skillsheet. Scotty no longer has a reputation as being a miracle worker. This didn't start happening until this last incursion patch; I hope this 1.1.2 patch does indeed light a fire under Scotty's arse, so he will again give us all she's got.
Eli, They are making some other changes with this next patch; hopefully that will solve your problem. I will note, however, that your autopilot malfunctions have little to do with API You'll not be a n00b forever, I promise
