I was hoping some people who are creating P2 materials on a single planet under the new system could share what they have found to be efficient/effective setups/layouts.
I used to use 4 extractors which went to a launch pad, and then 3 basic processors to create the P1, which went back to the launchpad (there would be an identical setup harvesting and processing the P1 for the complimentary resource), and from there the P1 went to what I considered a primary launch pad which had two advanced processors which made the P2. I can't get this to work anymore.
What can I do now to make something like Enriched Uranium on a Plasma Planet? Can anyone post some screenshots of your P2 planet setup?

Take the P1 to a barren planet, convert it to P2 there. Use the same barren planet to convert your other various P1 stuffs to P2 as well.
If you can't bear the thought of flying a couple AU with your P1, then you'd do this ghetto passive planet:
Two ECU. One space port. About 5 processors - two per P1 product, and one for your P2 product. You won't get the full 10 heads out of each ECU, but that's good because you won't have enough factories to keep up with the p0 for most products. If you have excess power after that, try to balance your average extraction rate with your p1 processing rate by adding more p1 processors and subtracting ECU heads. Remember that your p0 extraction rate will likely level off a little bit below your initial rate, so you can potentially destroy a p1 processor to make room for another p2 processor later.
The more advanced iteration of the same process: One ECU. One space port. As many processors as you need to make the p0 -> p1 for the higher yield p0. After that, p2 processors.
The system:
Extract the heavy metals on Day 1. Process them to toxic metals all day.
Extract noble metals on Day 2. Process them to precious metals all day. Process the combined toxic and precious metals stock into your enriched uranium.
On Day 3, swap back to extracting and processing heavy metal. Day 4, back to noble metals.
That'll allow you to maximize your output and keep up with the rates of p0 that are possible, and it'll support more p2 processors to make more enriched uranium. It requires a lot more work though, and it's kind of silly compared to toting the junk to your local barren processing plant.

Enriched uranium is easy, you need 2 extractor units for noble and heavy metals, 4 basic factories and 3 advanced. The rest of the powergrid goes to extractor heads. This works with lvl 4 command center and in lowsec, depending on where you are and how your cycles are, you can get more factories with less extractor heads to work (0.0)
The central point of your production is your launchpad where everything goes to and from where it is being taken by factories.
What doesn't work any more are chains like robotics because there you will need 4 extractor control units, each for one of the 4 needed resource and they need way too much powergrid.

I produce P2's on a single planet in high-sec with no problems at all using the new system. Based off your comments I think the setup you described using the old system was in null/WH or low sec as even with the old system I couldn't have made that setup work in high sec.
I have Two ECU's feeding two basic processors feeding one advanced processor. I tend to pull in much more P0 than I did using the old system so I've made a factory planet to process the excess P0 from my various planets on a alt.
Since you mentioned Enriched Uranium I took a screenshot of my Enriched Uranium planet: Enriched Uranium Planet

Thanks guys, that is what I have been basically doing. I am in 0.0 doing this btw. I have 2 x ECU each harvesting a resource. I then have 2 basic processors for each ECU, and then as many advanced processors as possible. Main thing is that before I had all my extractors going into a launch pad before going to the basic processors, and I was using 3 basic processors instead of 2. Guess I will see how this works out and if my launchpad fills up really fast as I am trying to avoid constant maintenance/interaction with PI.

Your layout is pretty inefficient. You're losing CPU and power due to the distance of your factory from the launchpad. Is there a reason why you need to connect your launchpad to the command centre?
Here's my layout on a barren planet that's making mechanical parts Linkage

Can you explain your setup there for me? How is it all linked up? ECU to Launch Pad and then the launch pad connects to each of the 3 basics which all output to? What is linked to what and how is it all routed? Your setup looks much better than how I had mine, and I think i should try and copy it a bit.

No, no reason. But when I visit the planet I want to be able to walk to the command center from the launch pad in comfort.
As to the factories all those links, including the CC one, use less than a 100 Power/CPU so it's not enough to run another factory and I don't need it elsewhere on the planet.

1. ECU dumps the Noble and Base Metal into their respective launchpad. 2. Launchpad routes material to basic factory which would be the top and bottom rows. 3. The basic factory routes to the advanced factory which is the middle row. 4. Advanced factory dumps into the third launchpad.
This setup may be contrary to what a few hardcore PI'ers suggest (either extractor or factory planet); I find this setup is extremely effective for 20 of my colonies that are in the WH when I can't have these guys in there everyday to haul material around.
Edit: I've changed the image so that it's easier to see what's linked to what: Linkage

Do your basic processors outputs ever outpace the rate at which your advanced can take up the materials? I was thinking I would need to output all basic processors to a launch pad before going into the advanced.

The cycle time on basic processors are half hour and advanced processors are an hour. The material required for advanced is 40 per cycle while the basic puts out 20 per cycle. So, you'll never have to worry about either one outpacing each other.
However, before the PI changes, I never had to worry about the extractor rate not being able to meet the demands of the basic processors but now it seems that couple of my colonies are having trouble meeting basic processor demand. Especially on gas planet when making coolant.
In those case, I cut back to 2 set of basic processor and 2 advanced processor as oppose to 3 prior to the patch. I end up having raw material slowly build up but I don't mind because there are days when I don't feel like resetting extractors.

The limitation for single planet P2 is more less set. At max L5 skill, the PG will only allow max 3 Advanced factories (and its supporting Basic factories), 3 storage units and 2 ECUs.
The biggest problem then switches to trying to maintain the extraction rates to feed those 3 Advanced factories - meaning at minimum 18,000 P0/per hour ..... which means at minimum 3 extractor heads, usually needs 4. This can be tough for lowsec extractions ... without sacrificing the storage or doing clever re-arrangements (if it's even possible, depending on the resource distribution).
End result, I find it's much more relaxing to stick with 2 Advanced factories setup for lowsec. Plenty of room to play however you want it. PI for me is a non-income source. The single reason why I'm doing it, is because it's galling to look at my POS fuel bill when you can (almost) afk the major cost components (almost 75%! total) with a minor effort.
