Same thing for me too...
I was a bit surprised to see the AGE of this thread. I could've sworn I just read some someone talking about how quick their response to fixing issues is....

I tend to get the same problem, how ever mine dosnt even go back to the log in screen. It just shuts the hole thing down with out warning. It seems to happen most when I'm going in and out of stations, but it happens at other times as well. I think the longest I've been able to stay on is about 1hr 20 mins and the shortest is 2 mins.

Try this:

Eve dropping me all the time is because of this:

I read somewhere about linksys firmwares being a bit iffy. I now use a 3rd party firmware on my linksys router and have not had a single problem since I upgraded.

This first started for me after RMR. CCP seemed to fix it for several months but since 2 patches ago this problem has returned and has been getting progessively worse. Today I could not maintain connection w/ CCP server longer than 5-10 mins. I can stream a 2 hour long movie file and NEVER have a problem but I can't even shoot 3 npc frigs without losing connection. I even downloaded a monitering program a fellow eve player suggested and it shows CCP's server booting me. My DSL is very near a hub and runs at 9bps. CCP, Devs whatever, you NEED to address this issue. This is far more annoying then the re-load all bug after RMR. It is impossible to do anything in eve when you get booted every 5-10 mins.

Well guess I'm the next in line.....
Basicly I've been playing eve for 6 weeks, running the client as good as 24 hours a day, and hours on end multiple clients next to eachother. 4 weeks long no problem at all. My connection is incredibly stable as it has been from the moment I got it 5 years ago. I run no firewalls no nothing. For me it all started also 2 weeks ago, to be exact, right after the big "upgrade" day. From the msg's I see they also changed some of the main pipes, or added more pipes.
I tried everything to make it stop, clear cache, reinstall the works. Nothing. Which I allready expected. Since eve is the only problem I'm having atm. As well as there being no real consistency or point to any real reason at all but one fact. server side. It's simply the only option left.
Gentleman you have chosen a very bad pipe. I've been saying it for days, it's server side. I check the forum and find this. For me, it's been stopping me from actively doing anything in the game for the last 2 weeks. But again with no consistency. Sometimes getting dumped 3 times in 10 minutes. Sometimes once an hour, or if I'm lucky, only once a day. Which maybe happened once or twice in the last 14 days.
Pls CCP/ISD whoever. Talk to us, at least give us a sign of life. Right now it forces me to stay docked. And train skills. Anything considering travelling is just a waste of time and an incredible frustration.
In the last few days it has seemed to grow worse and happen more and more often also.
A reimbursement in some form would be even in place I think. Which is something I don't even care about at all. I just wanna play again.......
pls help us.

I'm having this connection lost problem as well. No problem half a year ago, but just re-activated my account and get disconnected ever 5-60 minutes. Nothing changed on my side, so I presume it was one of the game updates that occured in the meantime. Identity is cheap, reputation priceless. |

Same here, ever since the new patch I am lucky to stay logged in for 5 minutes at a time, which makes playing impossible. If this doesn't get fixed I will be forced to cancel. I mean what's the point of having a game i can't play?
I am running a router, but my ports are open. The port number is still 26000 right?

I too am having this disconnect issue. I just re-installed Eve about a week ago and ever since I have started playing again I get disco'd from the server at what appear to be random times. I am connecting through my Linksys befsr41 router with port 26000 forwarded to my box. But I have no issues with any other connectivity I have. If you want a log from me just ask, but I am not sure what you would need to solve this issue.

I can sometimes play for Hours with no problem and other times even opening the market or just sitting in a station and my game disappears. No Connection lost. Just gone. I tried Rebooting, reinstalling and everything I can think of no difference.
This only started a few days to a week or two ago.

I too had this problem, and a simple solution. The problem ended being an IRQ conflict with my network card, and my video card. When the game had a lot of stuff going on, I would disconnect. I fixed the conflict, and now I do not disconnect. I don't know if this helps at all, but it's all that I can contribute.

a friend had the same problem, as did a lot of people on the boards. turns out a sound card driver update and set the affinity of eve to one cpu if you are running a dual core/dual cpu system worked. I seem to remember a directx bug causing problems with older drivers, cant find the post about it atm tho.

Happens to me too... sometimes its really bad, sometimes its not so bad... i had thought that it was just my router (crappy el-cheapo D-Link) but after reading this thread i'm suddenly not so sure, i've been making do with this problem since mid-decemebr when i upgraded from trial to paid (trial worked perfectly... then again, my trial was back in september with another EVE game, pretty much)

Rebooting the router can act as a short term fix - worked for me last night, anyway. It might also be worth running Ping Plotter while logged on to EVE, or possibly (if you like command prompts) a ping / tracert with a -30 switch, so that it repeats every 30 seconds. ------
So you're lagged out in Motsu/Saila/Aramachi, but you want that CNR? Do missions for another corp! |

This is odd... I get the same thing but it happens on hourly intervals. After around 2 hours it disconnects, gives me 3 or 4 of the "client has been disconnected" windows and I have to cntl-alt-dlt and shut down exe.whatever to get Eve to full shut down.
I thought my roomie had simply mucked up the router, but DAYUM those are some horrible ping times.

How many of you who get constant disconnects use a router to share a connection. I found that when I removed the modem from the router and directly connected to my gaming PC there were no longer any drops.
I think there are several different issues being described by the various posts, but I think the router issue is probably a common one. Does anyone know how to set up the router so it doesn't block connection to eve when it becomes inactive for a while?

I had this problem also, but for me it was a wireless issue. As it turns out, any instability in the internet connection causes eve to disconnect, where it does not on most other games. I tested this by putting in 2 wireless cards so there would always be an active connection, and it worked. My connection would disconnect for less than a second, and it would cause this. So for those of you out there with disconnect issues using wireless, this may be a problem.
I can't stand lazy forum posters. They should be banned. |

I just bought the game and am on my 30 day trial. I'm disconnecting like 5-6 times per session. Right now I've lost connection 4 times in a row and am unable to play. My internet connection is on solid during this time and no other services are interrupted and I can play other MMO games without this issue.
This is going to be a deal breaker for me, I can't subscribe to a game that I can't play. Any fixes for this? I'm using a router if that helps, but I've never had to tinker with router settings for an MMO.

And here comes another one ... Been playing EVE for more than a year, last 2 days I randomly get disconnected more or less all the time. Cant play as it is now. Tried; *Removing all newly installed software *Reseting router *Updating firmware for router *Setting router to DMZ *Clearing EVE Cache *Re-installing game *Run tracer ... shows less than 30 ms total everytime *Turned sound off *Dowloaded the update for realtek sound drivers (just in case, although sound is off)
and tbh im running out of options now, everything else, including MSN, Webradio, Internet, other online games, works like a charm. I really really enjoy EVE. Am I forced to quit?

on a router, getting disconnects when idle like most ppl here. what can i do about it ccp?
im on a d-link. is there a way to increase this idle time = you get booted problem?
also why does this not affect other online games? is it because whats coming from eve is so miniscule?

This happens to me, and I'm in Europe. What the hell. Can we get an answer on this at all? This time it's the London ISP, which CCP said they had problems with a few weeks ago...
...well we're still having problems!!! :( Why won't CCP answer it's players? This is worse than Blizzard.
