i know this has been talked about in the past but reading post from two years ago wasnt getting my any where lol. I've been thinking alot about the manual flight thing and kinda wanna here some new opinions. Basicly im thing along the lines of you can more ajust ur speed kinda like a bar so its not all or none and have the same controls as a plane in a sence. basicaly no just turn right, u roll ur ship to the right until either the bottom or top is facing the direction you whant and than you pitch up or down. also stuf like barrel roles and complex flight would decrease ur chance of being hit and possibly lengthan targeting times since there is already a moving target accurecy factor in the game. but also it would decrease ur own accurecy as well it might be the future but i dont think that changes being able to target something when ur barrel rolling thats gonna be hard period lol. still the same veiw system just maybe being able to lock it but no first person crap thats to much and no manuel firing the auto tracking system makes sence. just curiouse to ur guyses thought.

Because of the way targeting works manual flight controls like a flight simulator would be useless. Since your ship is in the overview and can be targeted using that, all the fancy flying you could do is in vain. Also missiles and guns automatically track your ship once targeted and drone will just follow you. Also it would be impossible for the combat system to take into account all the variables of random erratic maneuvers.
My 2 cents worth.

true but isnt there a tracking speed accurecy system i mean as far as im concerned depending on how fast a ship is moving takes affect into the chance of hitting and missing not alot but still a factor > The Shrimp is Grim <

There was a dev blog or comments thread on a dev blog the past couple months where a dev basically said 'no.' Think it was one of the lag dev blogs. EVE is 1 HZ processing right now and it's why we can have big fleet fights.
Also, the current game mechanics would make manual control impossible and dumb. As far as the game is concerned, all ships are spheres with no facing, only velocity.
So, basically, no. Wrong game.

you might know this already but just in case- the speed in eve right now isn't all or nothing, you can click on the speed bar in your hud to set whatever speed you want, or use hot keys to speed up/slow down [add/subtract keys by default] so you can already control this with a programable joystick.
to turn and maneuver manually double click in space to make your ship turn in whatever direction you want... not great, but better than nothing

No... never. To be able to do it, they'd have to trash the entire game. Every last bit of the in-space part of it. There is no way it can ever be done in EVE, except as out-of-game minigames like the upcoming Dust (which is missing the first "M" of "MMO".) If they did, everything would break and everyone would quit. It cannot, and will not ever work. Don't ever expect it. It's not that kind of game. That's why people are saying to try a different game. EVE can't work that way. I'm running out of ways to say "no" so... No.

Why would the plane be holding a seance?
See this video on the Escapist for more information on basic, game design related skills. If you are serious about manual flight, being able to clearly communicate with developers and stakeholders within the business would be essential.
P.S. The Alot is better at you than everything.

I'm going to do something very simple. I will remove "lol" and emoticons from your sentence. Then I will capitalise the start of each sentence. Compare:
Quote: True true. Thats what my 3D animater teacher and my programing teacher keep telling me. That is one of my weak points.
