after over a year and a half of us wspace players killing sleepers, getting used to our ways etc, ccp changed it so that sleepers neut (actually they were supposed to neut in the first place but didn't and they fixed the bug). did we **** and moan about it? or did we just change our fits and keep going?
the point is that eve evolves and you can either evolve with it our you can pout and cross your arms and stomp around. Only one of them will involve you playing the game and having fun though.
While I agree with you that some of us adapted, I would argue that there was still that vocal minority that cried (and continues to cry) like a baby about the neuts.
I think the thread is titled "Sleepers Neut too hard." Check it out. Fantastic tears.

Originally by: Ace Rimmaa actually it IS kinda disturbing. we get baited with trailers like "uuuh butterfly sandbox, where you can do whatever you want" and after a year they change everything, so you are either just more annoyed while playing (=less fun) or youre forced completely out of your comfort zone. lvl 4s are a joke now. i cant believe anyone is still bothering with that. you only get half per hour of what you got there years ago. there has been a reason highsec got placed into that game. if its obsolete, they should just make everything lowsec. bugs like "go 8 jumps into lowsec" dont make things better. and if they placed a lvl 5 into highsec for about a year, it doesnt matter if its a bug or not - people are using it. (thats a pretty lame statement anyway. accidently placed lvl 5 agents?) if the standing and lp are too much you do what? right. you give lesser reward in higher sec space. like with everything else. no need to just purge it from highsec. and i hope they fix the incursions faster than lvl 5s. sanshas win one system after another lol. fleets of 100+ people get ripped apart. the reward is nothing near the risk and only the best fleet in the system gets it? ah well. i do whs (thanks for bumpable whs and neuts btw) but luckily they didnt force me to use a jumpgate to get in the pocket *ALONE* so i cant set up fleet warps and spidertanking properly. at least so far. maybe thats gonna be "fixed" soon too.
theres literally no sense arguing with people like you
you want to be spoon fed...maybe eve isn't for you

Very nice assessment.
This game is not really about PVP. It's about screwing people who are trying to have fun.
Oh yes, and 1500ppl fleet battles and 1700+ ppl in Jita. That's the whole idea.
Fleets with guys who have militaristic attitude and are (mostly) big *******s. People who consider EVE their freaking life.
These are the things that ruin the game.
Because YOU ARE A ****ING GENIUS for being able to take down a PVE ship in a ship fitted for PVP. YOU SIR ARE A ****ING GENIUS.
"Hey, guess what. I shot myself a nice Tengu fitted for PVE." "Did he attack you?" "No." "Why did you attack him?" "Cause I could feel strong and crafty for being able to take down a PVE ship in my PVP pwnmobile." "Ah.. You're a GOD!!!! Was it a challenge?" "No, he never stood a ****ing chance, but somehow I still felt good and had an immediate boner."
I actually bet some people truly do have one after such kills
Because every time you go to low/sec or 0.0 you have to worry about freaking gate camps. Gate camps since day zero. Gate camps are the top of the day. Gate camps are FTW.
And yes, gatecampers still put dozens or drones in bubbles to catch you even if you do everything possible to slip through.
And yes, it happened a few days back and nobody seems to care about such exploits.
Why don't you just cancel your sub if you are so scared of this game/hate it and its player base so much? Maybe its just not for you?

Originally by: Valarre you guys just don't get it do you? All of you are living in a fantasy world through false assumptions. Why not accept the truth in the matter that no matter where you are running your missions/plexs/ratting they are all just about equal in risk factor. It is in our nature to do things with little risk as possible and there are ways to cut it down significantly no matter where you are.
Your little thesis on risk/reward is cute and all, but you neglect to comment on why certain parts of low sec/0.0 are safe.
The reason for this is player influence: players make these areas safe by working together. Weird. Working together. MMO. Painting a clear enough picture for you? The risk is reduced when...players work together.
In high sec, the risk is reduced via Concord and the mechanics that are in place. Thus, reward is skewed to fit this limited risk.
In low/null, there is a much higher risk of players killing you. However, players working together can help mitigate this risk (pvp defense, intel channels, etc). Thus, players working together will allow you to see greater rewards with similar risks to Concord high sec.

Originally by: Patri Andari If the rewards are too great in high security ( I do not think they are btw), reduce them.
If you truly believe this you are entirely delusional or just don't really know the income that can be generated from a lvl 5 mission.
Your argument is crap. You want challenging PvE with crap rewards in high sec? Get out of your isk efficient marauder/faction BS and do some lvl3/4s in an assault frigate. Check out incursions. Do anomalies in a T1 frigate.
You should have to risk something for the "final tier" of missions. Its end game for missioners (lvl 5 and pirate faction). End game shouldn't be in high sec.

Did you even read my post you child?
When it comes to missions you do not do any realistic service to compare them to anything other than....other missions. With this in mind the variation is based on level, agent quality and security.
That being said, level 4 or 5 missions in high sec are balanced against the same in low and null not any other content. This is how it should be.
Oh hey you edited your post to actually have some content. Nice work.
Remind me again why missions are special content that can't be compared to other game content?
And if "this is how it should be" then why did the devs remove them from high sec? Are you implying that you know more of how the game should be run than the devs?
Let me say it again. Final tier content, for all content (missions are not an exception and you have yet to provide any reason as to why they should be considered so) should involve risk. You should have to risk something to enjoy "end-game" content and reap the rewards they provide.

What you're suggesting would work, but it wouldn't be what these people want.
GEE, I am sooo glad that Tippia knows what we want. You keep talking about risk vs reward. I think Leavwiz and others were very clear in stating they are interested in the mission content. The reward is secondary. Keep in mind that this content existed for a long time before they started playing. To them it wasnt a mistake, it was part of the gameplay and technically endgame for them.
If it has been an LP push for years now, why did it suddenly hit critical mass? Bottom line is still that CCP is using different mission assignment rules for lvl 5 than for other missions. This would seem to be more of a flaw needing fixing than having the missions at all. If it is right for other mission levels to land in adjacent space regardless of level than 5's should too.
If you are still hung up on rewards, the change the reward in high sec as has been done in other mission levels.
The DORF
So using your logic for other activities:
There should be ABC ores in high sec that...yield a less amount of high end minerals so that you get the content but not the rewards.
There should be 10/10s in high sec that drop C-type small items or nothing at all and have truncated bounties.
You see how dumb this all sounds?
Putting lvl 5 missions in high sec is the equivalent. There is no reason they should be treated differently. Yes the primary reason for their removal is the high reward amount. However, high end/end game content should not be found in high sec, whether it be ABC ores, 10/10 plexes, Sov warfare, or missions.

Originally by: dorfsorc are you saying that high sec players shouldnt have any endgame or escalated content beyond level 4? if so, why not?
This is exactly what I am saying.
High sec is not end game, and thus end game content should not be available there.

The tradition you seek was an illusion created by a bug.
Missions are not special, and should conform to the same content restrictions as all other PVE activities.

Originally by: leavcraft I thought I was done posting on this topic, but since my original post, I have averaged 80% low sec offered missions from high sec space agent. This is to the point of being absurd. If CCP wants us in low sec, so be it, but dont play games like only offering low sec for lvl 5 missions from low sec based agents while at the same time offering mostly low sec missions from high sec agents for all other tiers.
I am sure CCP saw this thread and decided you need to be in low sec more.
And thus your constant missions to low sec

Originally by: leavcraft what i have asked is for an explanation of why they changed the game we have been playing for two years. I am not asking for it to be changed to suit my needs. I am asking why it was changed to make what we learned and enjoyed in the game not available to us (and that includes the lvl 4 missions). A change has been made. If that is a new direction, then say so, if players like me dont like it, we can leave. If notthe forums, where should we be making this known?
They did explain it.
You just don't like the explanation (cause you're a whiney git).

how odd that i didnt think to google search to see if my missions were unintended bugs before doing any ot them. Perhaps I just assumed that because they were offered, they were legitimate. When did it become the player's responsibility to keep up with unintended dev work? In no way can someone that simply accepts a mission discovered while talking to an agent "gaming" the system. I can accept that the community and the devs felt the lvl 5 in high sec was a bad implementation. I cannot accept that I am somehow at fault for not checking forums and google to discover that before running them for the last two years.
Why don't you and your kids just adapt and run missions in low sec? Get a few unprobable tengus together and you'll be fine.
Adapt and move on, not whine and wait.
